I think I actually had the 990 first in high school. I’m not a fan of the red though, I much prefer the 993.
I do like that 991 you posted, would get them in grey though.

I used to be the same way. I have tried 373 but the 574 is not near as comfortable as a 990. The v3 were my favorite but since I have stared wearing OC I haven’t bought any other brand of shoe

The 993's are one of the few shoes made in America by any sports shoe brand.
Its the only one I know of made in the USA

I've owned probably a dozen or my 990s (990, 993s, 998s) in the last 20+ years. I've tried to find anything as comfortable and durable and it is not possible. Not to mention they're American made.
The last time I went to get fitted at a real running shop, I tried on everything from OC, Brooks, Nike, etc and nothing came close on my foot. The owner even commented that the NB I ended up buying might last longer than 4 pairs of OC. He said OC were a joke of a running shoe.

Buy a shoe because it functions right, not if your "buddy" already has the same ones.

Been running and wearing NB for several years. The 900 series American made models are by far the most durable. They also make great yard work shoes after their running days have expired.
