The B-52 is a great plane but it's nowhere near as influential, iconic and famous as the Boeing 747.
Can the 747 drop nuclear bombs or cruise missiles? It ain't got nothing on the B52. B52 is old and iconic. You can't change my mind.

we could feel the repercussions from the bombs
Are you sure about that?

That's amazing!!! Which technique did your time travelling ancestor use to get a vehicle made in the 1960's into the 1940's? Also, how did he bribe the temporal police into looking the other way as he violated history?
Cut the poster some slack, my kids are in their 20s and 30s both their grandfathers served in WWII and they have no clue what they did other than maybe what branch of the service they were in, nor do they know the difference between a B52, B29, B2, etc. most people are not military plane aficionados.

Vehicle and instrument of peace that's widely used every day by people of all creeds >>>>>>> Weapon of War that you hope is never used, is used only sparingly and is used by America's warriors only.
After all, the great seal of the United States of America has the eagle looking towards the olive branch signifying peace.
It's no accident as to why he 747 is called the Queen of the Skies.
The B-52 is a damn good plane and one hell of a fantastic investment by the US Air Force but at its core, it's still a plane that's designed to kill people and blow up buildings and has no other purpose or even any possible use than that and that doesn't make it the best plane ever.
In fact, I would wager that there are more military pilots that agree with me than not.

They make a heck of an impression on the farmers when they are practicing low level terrain following flying.
Brother in law had a roofing crew re-roofing his house during one of these training periods. He climbed the ladder to see how the roofers were doing and happened to spot the smoke plume as one went over the hill and dropped below the horizon to the east. He told the roofers "You guys better duck, here comes an airplane". They laughed at him until suddenly a big roar and gust of wind blew some of the leaves off of the maple tree and some of their loose wood shingles off of the roof.

I was about two miles south of the DMZ...
That was the same A.O. I was in, and halfway between the mountains on the Laotian border and the South China Sea. There were lots of B52 runs in the mountains. Infiltration routes.
