I haven't eaten fast food in years for health reasons so I am glad that I am not wasting my money of feel good laws being applied in the business world

Yup, we used our "privilege" to jump directly into a six-figure job without any work.

we understand this min wage raise will suck for everybody else, but it will benefit the people that make minimum wage haha. that's the only people it will benefit, so long as they can find a job, but I can understand why they want it.

How many dicks did you suck?

What do you think increasing the minimum wage to $20 will do to the purchasing power of those that survive and continue to have their $20 an hour min wage burger flipping job?

Does their purchasing power go up? Does it go down? Does it remain the same?

Does their weekly hours worked stay the same, go up, go down?

What is the average number of employees working per shift now, and what will it be in 6 months, will it go up, down, remain the same?

If you think the change that impacts roughly 50k or so people (or even less) of the lowest tax bracket will have a significant change in an economy of 50 million, I’d like to sell you some property

Look at you, patches.

Ready to answer the questions posted above? Or you gonna continue to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge some more?

That’s nice, hon.

Keep dodging.

Keep ducking.

Keep dipping.

Keep diving.

And most of all, keep dodging.

You need to 10x that, baw.

And you're not thinking beyond this. Do you think the managers of those places who were salaried will be ok with the fry cook making more than them? No, their wage will need to be raise as well. What about other industries that employ minimum wage workers? They will be forced to raise their pay rates as well (as well as those above them and those above them).

All you're going to do is reduce the number of those jobs and increase the cost of living, in the end helping no one and making things worse. The progressive way.

And the lucky strike extra here is that people like you will complain about "the greedy business owners" and "raising their prices just because they can".

I'm sure this will work out well and help with our record breaking inflation we are dealing with.

The delta from their current wage of ~15 to this reduces the impact significantly.

Managers at fast food make 60k+ on average. This brings the hourly worker assuming 30 hour weeks (no benefits) to roughly 31k.

This is more likely to be better for ca than not. What’s the point of making so much money if all the lower income people can’t afford to live there and therefore leave?

Half a million employees in cali will get a raise of some kind. Out of 19-20 million employees total.

It will cause inflation of a few percent, but the employees getting a raise will be making up to 20% more. They will have more purchasing power, everyone else will have less.

I find it weird that some folks (act like they) think this will cause over 20% inflation to where the people getting the 20% raise will have less purchasing power.

This law fricks the people not getting raises. They will have to take that up with their employers.

This is a factor, but not as big as you are making it out to be. Places like mcdonalds will give their employees bullshite like a 10 cent raise with a promotion to manager. It isn't like the fry cook is making $20 and the manager $25, it's more like $20 and $20.15
