Give a round of applause to the man in charge of the bluebonnet construction! What a shite show of epic proportions

They managed to cause more confusion at BB and I-10. It was bad enough with people trying to get over realizing that the far right lane was exit only. They somehow made it worse

Honorable mention to the guy who snowed BR into believing that removing 2 lanes from Government street is a solid idea

What's your beef with it?

You should actually read up on the government street construction. shite, you’re even wrong about the number of lanes
Posted on 9/15/18 at 12:22 pm to Ed Osteen
It’s two lanes with a turn lane. Gonna be a cluster.

Government Street desperately needs a turn lane.

We will have to wait and see how it turn out but a lot lot people don’t realize the 4 mile stretch being changed is to purposely slow down traffic. A center turning lane makes left hand turns so much easier and stops people from blocking lanes

There's not enough room for CATS buses to get out of the travel lanes for pickups and drop-offs.
It's going to be a goddamned clusterfrick.

I’m just excited that they’re finally starting work at Nicholson and Brightside.

I have read up on it extensively. As a small business owner who owns a piece of commercial property whose value is based on traffic count, I'd be particularly upset with the city parish for literally paying millions of dollars to drive traffic away from my location. Making a business district more inviting to pedestrian and bicycle traffic is great, but how much retail business is going to come from a guy on foot or on a bike? I'm sure Albertsons will be awash in people walking there to buy $5.00 worth of groceries since they have no car. I'm also positive with such a lovely climate of 100% humidity 75% of the year, everyone's going to want to walk to Phil's Oyster bar to have dinner instead of drive. Well everyone that lives within a 1/4 of a mile of the place, right? Screw the other 95% of Baton Rouge who will have to drive there. Let them have their 1 lane. Excellent plan.

No, we don't have to wait to see that this is a dumbass idea. A really dumbass idea.

They made the left lane which had previously continued on turn left onto I-10 without telling anyone or putting signs up. The first time I drove it I was like what the frick is this shite.

No you don't. They are currently repaving sidewalks on Government street and have the outside lane closed in a few places. You can get a sweet taste of what its going to be like driving on 1 lane down Government right now! Just hope you don't get behind Miss "I have no idea exactly where I'm going so I'll just drive 15mph and constantly look left and right until I see the place I'm looking for" like I did. Nothing like cruising down Government at that pace with no options to pass. GoBR

Yep. I work off of BB. They just moved the cluster frick from the right lane to the left lane. People are trying to get over realizing they are about to get on I-10 W

That's the dumbest construction thing I've seen in a long time. I can't believe it wasn't mentioned here yet.
