Looks like the Dems may over turn the dumbass crap the republicans tried to pull recently and reinstate the Obama policies.

quote:

Susan Collins just put Trumps agenda into jeopardy with a defiant announcement.

'On the heels of the wildly unpopular FCC vote in favor of repealing net neutrality rules regulating broadband companies’ power over consumers’ use of the internet, a glimmer of hope may have just surfaced.

Senate Democrats have introduced a bill that has garnered 40 co-sponsors, enough to overturn a repeal of the regulations. In doing so, they have secured a procedural vote on the floor of the Senate.

Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) has declared that she will vote with Democrats to restore net neutrality. In the event that all 49 Democrats vote in favor of the resolution, Collins’ participation would mean that Democrats would only need one more Republican defection to overturn the FCC’s decision.

Given the decision’s extreme unpopularity in the United States – a staggering 83 percent of Americans support the Obama era net neutrality rules – there will be pressure for moderate Republicans to side with the Democrats.

I wish they wouldn’t make this a democrats vs republicans issue. It needs to be overturned regardless of party.

It's unusual for all the letters of the first word to be in the second word of a two-word phrase.

No better way to get half the country against an idea than to make it political.

Of course the Dems want to maintain control and choke out competition. More regulations for everyone!

Explain how net neutrality chokes out competition?

Trump appointed the former lead legal counsel of VERIZON to lead the Federal COMMUNICATIONS Commission and install his own people.

Huh? It was ted cruz's little pet project and Trump appointed Pai to kill it. The FCC voted on straight party lines.

Wtf? Last I checked, Trump is a Republican.

At least right now, till he decides he is a Democrat again.

Net Neutrality will be looked upon as a god given right in the near future. The groups trying to stop that now, will be vilified.

Whichever side you are on won't matter. This is what will be remembered.

The FCC is independent. If you want to blame it on Pai for being nominated by a Republican president then you have to blame Obamacare on Republicans since Roberts was nominated by Bush.

Good. Over 80% of the country supports net neutrality, and the 20% that don't aren't properly educating themselves on the issue solely because Obama's name is attached to it.
