The whole fricking point. And you call me an imbecile. Censoring or limiting an access point is what everyone is afraid of.

As someone who hates liberals so much, I'd figure you wouldn't be on the side of the corps who own the "fake news" media.

People on this issue have a hard time looking long term.

To clarify, are you suggesting the ISPs have campaigned and lobbied against their own long-term interest?

What regulations caused Comcast to slow down Netflix?

That was resolved before NN existed.

Thanks for proving the point

But they could do it again today, no? And it would be legal...

And to clear up any confusion, there were no regulations forcing them to do so...

If it means reigning in companies that have already been proven they'll screw Americans at every step to increase profit, they needed to be regulated properly.

They got that way from the regulation.

ISPs became oligopolies before broadband was classified as Title 2, so try again.

Wait they have to pay more under threat of limited access?

Or pay more after they literally just throttled them to force customers on to their own platform?

Come on, now youre just playing coy.

The reason they paid the ransom was because Comcast was losing revenue due to people cutting the cord. In retaliation, Comcast downgraded peoples ability to watch Netflix because Comcast wanted people to buy movies from Comcast.

Thats the exact opposite of the free market.

Its not that big of a jump to extend that to political campaigns and free speech.

Imagine if Comcast or TimeWarner throttled everything except MSNBC or CNN (outlets they own) news during the campaign because of the campaigns paying for "better service".

It would save a lot of time if you just said, "I'm for this repeal because Trump says I should be." Then we could move on to people who have genuine arguments.

Seriously. I quit posting on the poli board because it was Trump trolls that had no coherent arguments.

And I’m a trump voter and supporter.

Just FYI, even the Trumpkins of the poliboard consider CptBengal an extreme partisan.

Just so you know the mental wall you are going up against.

When Trump talked about shooting someone on Fifth Avenue and not losing his core support, not only is CptBengal the type of person he was speaking about, CptBengal could be the one Trump shot on Fifth Avenue and he would simply spend his last dying breathe cheering on Trump's accuracy.

im 99% certain that the people who are for the repeal (appears to be about 15% of the country) are doing so just simply because of "Obama" and "liberals on reddit".

hearing some of these "arguments" doesnt even make sense.

coming from some posters i always assumed were seemingly intelligent people too

Has nothing to do with why I am OK with the repeal but keep jumping to wild unsubstantiated conclusions like the entire rest of this thread.

What’s your reasoning stout? Not attacking but I am curious. Hold your opinions higher than most in here. Free market dynamics?

Him, Parmen, Conservativewifemom, Strannix, imjustafatkid, and LSURussian don’t have the combined IQ to boil water. Trump could impregnate his daughter and then perform a live abortion on her in the Lincoln Bedroom, and they’d still defend him.

Correct. This was a massive win for the cable companies and a massive loss for innovation and the internet. And the excitement some of you have over end of the open internet is concerning to say the least.

No one would be happy in an end to an open internet. Some of us just think that this isn't doomsday. You should realize that it's quite possible that how we access the internet could change due to innovation as well. And I wonder if websites most affected by this repeal (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, etc) aren't actively spearheading that very innovation as we speak
