Neighbors FCU has quickly become the worst bank to deal with in the EBR area

I truly despise the live teller system. I rarely have to go to the bank, but in the event I do I want to interact with an actual person, in person.

It's so weird talking to the drive thru teller on the screen in the drive thru.

I use to have an account at Neighbors but they changed terms on it and I switched that particular account to EFCU. I went into Neighbors FCU in Zachary the other day for something and was surprised. They renovated the entire building around this concept of not having a live teller sitting in front of you. Seemed like an odd move for a smaller regional banking institution.

Being that all the branches are live teller centered now, yeah I’m blaming the bank as a whole. But you must work there if you’re so butt hurt over my comment.

Little touchy are we?

Who else should the person blame? Just curious. Every Neighbors Branch is converting or has converted to this system.

Yep! They're fricking terrible.

A while back I wanted to pay off a loan I had with them. I tried doing it on their website and was told I couldn't use their website to make the payment and instead to call them.

I called them. They told me I could use the website and I had to correct them. I was placed on hold and then she came back on to take my payment over the phone. The teller couldn't take my payment over the phone because I was using a credit card (points, then paid off card). She said to use a credit card I would have to go inside.

Got my kid dressed and went to their location.

I get there and the lobby is closed due to renovations. I got to the drive through and the teller there told me I can't use a credit card at the drive through and to go inside but since their lobby was closed I would have to go all the way to Perkins (I'm in Prairieville). She asked if I wanted to use my checking account. I explained to her I only have my debit card, no check or account information on me at the time. She said I would need the account info to use my checking account.

I looked at her and had had enough by this point. I told her I would go back another day and to never, ever ask for my business ever again. I have never had a business give me so much trouble when I WANTED to give them money.

Screw Neighbors FCU. Their system is fricked up and their customer service is even worse.

Sorry for ignorance, I don't bank there.

It's a robot computer system?

If they've all really treated you this bad then why have none of you written the NCUA about the matters?

The automated phone calls fire me up too. I want to talk to a human, not a machine.

I agree 1000%. They totally screwed up what they had going. I'm actually looking for another bank right now.

We are too. First question I have for them, are you switching to live teller?

Coursey still has live people inside.

I'm honestly about to become an old person and move everything to Whitney.

Ive had no issues..... sure the live teller thing is different, but it isn’t fricking rocket science. Not my fault all the boomers can’t figure shite out without having someone hold their hand.

I've been with "Neighbors" since they were BRTFCU in the 80's/90's. I don't like the live teller format either. Couple that with a few deposit issues I had this year and for the first time I'm considering banking elsewhere.

The live teller is impersonal as frick. If people are going to a branch for a bank, they probably want to see an actual person, and not a screen with a person on it.

No. People go to the atm/teller to deposit money, take money out, pay loans, etc.

You aren’t going to chat up Cassie, you’re going to move money around.
