Sounds like the dog was doing his job in protecting his owner and the neighborhood. You should thank him, rather than being a dick about it.

I’ll tell you what I did about 20 years ago to get my dogs and the neighbors dog to quit barking. We both had chain link fences and shared a common one in between. I told my neighbor what I was going to do before hand and he was ok with it. Every time any of those mutts started barking I would throw a lit firecracker in their direction. After 3 days none of them barked any more and my neighbor thanked me. The only downside was all those mutts were scared to death of thunder the remainder of their lives.

Last time it happened to me I banged on the neighbors door until he woke up. If his dog is going to wake me up, I’m waking him up.

I am confused. The title says the dog won't stop barking, but then say it was barking around 11:30PM. Did it bark all night starting around 11:30PM? Or was it a constant bark for a certain period of time? (30mins-hr)
And does this happen every night?

If it continues to be a problem get a cheap cap gun. Most dogs hate it. I taught mine not to bark for no reason in 5 minutes. As soon as he barks.... pop a cap.

Get one of those cheap BB guns (not high powered air rifle) and shoot the dog in the arse. I use my sons on my dogs at 10’ and they are fine.
