A neighbor told us they are having a party with a dj and wanted to let us know. Made me think, has anyone ever called the cops on a neighborhood party because of noise?

What WOULD make you call the cops?

Have you ever had the cops called for one of your parties?

For me, the only way I’m calling cops is if the party spills into my yard our outside my house or something like that. If a neighbor is having a party in their back yard, so be it. I can deal with noise for a night, even if I don’t like it. I don’t understand how someone can’t deal with noise one time (assuming it’s a one time party and not regular).

I was at a party in 1998 where po-po showed up 4 times. Think it was Sharlo but my memories are a bit hazy.

Drunks fighting spilling into neighbors yards. They didn't come into my yard but they all know me as the gun guy since they knew of my store. I guess they weren't that drunk if they avoided my property. I didn't call the cops but I support the ones that did and gave a statement.

They were fighting but NOBODY WOULD LEAVE and the ones not fighting looked like they were filming for worldstar. This is the only rent house I know of on our street...

I assume neighborhood parties are peaceful, just possibly noisy and late into the night. Once it turns to fighting, that’s a different situation. I have no sympathy for cops being called then.

In BR I doubt the cops would even show up unless there was an active shooter at the party

Even then it would be a coin flip

I went to a party HS that occurred of nowhere Livingston Parish. The nearest neighbor had to be at least 500-1000 yards away. Anyway there were so many of us there that cops were called 3 times that night. They forced us to leave after the 3rd time.

I have. Back corner new neighbors had some loud arse bass music bumping, loud arse screaming and even some asshat with a mic shouting at like 10:30-11. shite was ridiculous and we kept waiting for it to stop so yeah. And some people may say that’s a bitch move to go over personally and ask but I thought 1) it’s stupid to go confront drunks who are obviously trashy enough to do it in the first place, and 2) I shouldn’t have to get up and go out over there I wasn’t doing anything wrong. So been about a year since so I guess they got the message.

It seems like there’s parties all night every night in my neighborhood. There’s always loud rap or Mexican music coming from somewhere nearby.

Was it a one time thing? You couldn’t let your neighbors yell on a microphone at 11 pm one night?

Once my friend was having a wild house party. At about 6am everyone is sleeping all over the house, anywhere they find a place to curl up. The cops showed up. A little late though. They were cool, though. My friend was a snake breeder and had dozens and dozens of them and he was letting them hold them.

I called the cops when my neighbor’s rave kept my newborn wide awake and screaming from exhaustion. The DJ was still going strong at 1 AM

Had a neighbor on the other side of the fence playing obnoxiously loud music. So loud it was distorted. This had gone on for three weekends in a row (yes culcha) and I had had enough. Grabbed the pitching wedge and got surgical on some target shots. Never found out it was me. Lol

You’re lucky. Usually “culcha” doesn’t wait for the weekend. Every day is a weekend.

In high school a neighbor threatened and threatened to call the cops on us when we’d have a kegger. Very rural area in Wisconsin but these people were jerks. So we planned the biggest thing we could just to piss them off and goad them into calling the cops. Right around 100 people, nice pallet and tire fire going, two half barrels of……root beer. Sure enough, cops were called and they showed up to shut us down. No one ran into the cornfields and woods and they discovered that we had nothing but root beer. Half an hour after they left we brought out the half barrels of actual beer.

Music can still go, but ya gotta turn it down to a reasonable volume at 10. It may be the weekend for you, but you don't know which neighbor has to be at work at 6. Otherwise, as long as it stays out of my yard and you don't wake up anybody in my house, you're good.
