I think you mean the HOA should have addressed this 10 years ago.

I said what I said. You pay money to the HOA every month, right? They work for you. If they didn't address your problem, it's your fault.

You have to change your name after this thread. Is “BetaTiger” taken?

How much are your HOA dues? Should have negotiated no payments for a year if they asking you to do their job

The issue...if you want to control things as they should run...you have to volunteer to serve...

Community is now 25 years old...

Some houses are bad news some have been completly renovated nicely...

Location is great...thats the silver lining...otherwise these values are stagnant

There's a fine line between having an HOA that's way over the top where you can't do anything and one that basically hands off...

Ours is mostly hands off...

Dues are 300 a year...so not much...and we do get much in return...

Well... I concede I earned it in this thread...

I made a really bad decision...based in fear of what might happen...then I said too much...thinking it would help him "see" another perspective other than his own

All things I know better... just didn't use good judgment...

I let this thing bother me...I think because of many years of other possessions eventhough over the years... his RV etc...

I just wasn't going to roll over this time. I was pissed

So you sent an email?

Knock on his door and tell him HOA asked you to speak to him about his vehicles on the street. It’s against HOA rules and some of the neighbors along with yourself thinks it look bad. HOA is threaten legal action and/or increased fees if you don’t fix the situation. Can you take of this before its gets to that?

That’s all you have to do.

Agreed...

It's a little complicated how everything came ahead...

Someone else actually turned him in to the HOA and the city.

When I got involved the city called me and told me they had already dealt with him...

I figured eventually he would know that I was at least in part involved in turning him in...

I didn't like envisioning him banging on my door one day...so I just admitted i too wasn't happy with his situation...thus the email...

Should have talked to him....

Like most people...I don't seek conflict with anyone let alone a close by neighbor

Sucks having to confront neighbors about things that you shouldn't have to...that your HOA should do.

Sounds like your HOA are intimidated by the trucker, total pussies.

I recommend bringing the issue up with the Pool Board, it's likely the threat of pool and tanning restrictions for him and his wife will be enough to get him to move his trailer and start parking in the garage.

1000% intimidated

They asked me to pull the city in for reinforcement....

His garage is occupied with motorboat and 2 motorcycles...

Only option is off site...

Big trailer moved
Little trailer still there...

Jill returns this week...that will be fun for her...

This is a bit confusing. Does he have three trailers? One in driveway, one covered with leaves for 10 years and big one in full de sac?

That's not how this works. You pay them to enforce the covenants. If they don't do that, then why the frick are you paying them? It's not "we'll enforce the agreement...if we feel like it." Let your grass get high and see how quick they come to give you some hategram about it. The HOA shirked their duty because you let them.

He cursed the HOA people...years ago about his driveway trailer...

Right now it's draped with fake leaves...I kid you not...

They let him keep it on the driveway...25' from his front door

Oh wait, that’s the same trailer? In the driveway draped with leaves?

Get all the neighbors together and have a meeting about the HOA's refusal to do anything. Get the whole neighborhood to get on board with not paying this year's dues. They're not gonna file 100's of liens. They can't afford it for starters. Tell the HOA you're not paying another dime to them until they start doing their job. Otherwise, what's the point of having an HOA?

I'm in agreement with you.

Have you ever felt like you're the only one that cares?

Some of the yards are so shitty...it ticks me off its allowed...just weeds

The HOA said they were not going to police the yards or maintenance...

Thats when I knew...its a lost cause...

I live on a decent small street...feels somewhat isolated

Other streets have problem houses...

As in more than 30...

Chainsaws are necessary....after 25 years of overgrown bushes that drape the houses...

Houses in here 25 years ago were 250k.ave...

Now some go for 750k...

Thats how crazy the market is...people are desperate to buy
