The neighbor shoudl be told to frick off but I can't blame him for trying. How could your wife accept something like that without even running it by you?

The neighbor is a single mother...she asked my wife..not me

My wife came inside and told me we were watching the dog and I immediately said no..she said oh well I already told her yes

So I went fix a bourbon on the rocks and went upstairs

Now that is fricked up.

Even when my sister in law has watched our dogs in the past and refused to be paid....we would still give her gift cards or a really nice gift from our trip so she couldn’t refuse it.

Your neighbors think y’all are total suckers

This would cost the neighbor and the wife at least two PIIHB each.

I don't think you would have said yes even if given a 5 week notice.

Absolutely. Do what you gotta do to help our little animal friends. As for the last minute crap, that’s another thing entirely. I guess she was desperate.

your neighbors sound poor, I have 3 dogs and the cheapest place near me is $30/day per dog. I hate doing it when I travel but $90/day is better than bothering my neighbors. There's apps to where you can leave them for even less at people's homes. Tell your neighbor to stop being poor.

Nooooooooo, the only way is to get a key to their house and go over and tend to it. Other than that, heck to the noooooooooo.

We already have a key so that’s going to pretty much be my plan of action while I’m home.

Tell them, no. I don’t see what the big deal is. Say you have too many plans and won’t be around.

Are there not kids in your neighborhood who could take care of the dog? I usually pay my neighbor's middle school kids $25-$30 to feed our dogs while we're gone
