Nice list but I would take out Rome and add Brussels and Copenhagen

Used to be a fun place, prior to the mid 90s.

Last few times I have been were disappointing, but there are a lot of places worse than NOLA.

That's being kind. It's a shithole.

It’s one of the great cities in the world. Top 3 in the USA. Most of you have no knowledge or access to the great things of Nola. Those of us in the know, know. The rest of you don’t know, and you NEVER will.

Born and raised in NOLA. It aint that great.

It was one of the great cities of the world circa 1820-1950. Quick descent thereafter. Still has shadows of its former self so not the complete shithole many are alleging. Plenty of other shitholes without the food, culture, history, etc.

What you are displaying without knowing it is the defensiveness of someone who knows they are wrong but are addicted to the lie.

2020 New Orleans is overrun by generic hipster culture endemic of other trendy cities. But with a "NOLA" facade.

The uniqueness of New Orleans has been fading for decades. It isnt totally gone yet, but it is reaching the event horizon.

There is no such thing as a "top city" or "great city" that is almost wholly based on hospitality and tourism. That is what 3rd world cities are for.

It is a fun place to do things and has a great history that most people are currently rejecting due to wokeness or some such bullshite, but it aint great. It had the opportunity to become a relevant city again after Katrina but the citizens and leaders rejected the possibility. NO other second or third tier American city has been given that opportunity and none again ever will. And for that, New Orleanians should feel great shame. No one to blame but themselves.

I enjoyed living there. But the local government is incredibly incompetent and some of locals leave a lot to be desired.

The best part about New Orleans is that it lives like a city. It’s practically the only place in Louisiana that you can live in and it feels like “city life” rather than urban sprawl. Which is lost when you move even to just Metairie.

During my walk last week I saw human excrement and used toilet paper on the sidewalk. It made me physically ill and made me never want to be there again.

Having lived there, I feel the exact opposite.

It was America's greatest city, and other cities in conversation with it should be Baton Rouge, Jackson, Memphis and Birmingham.
