Sounds horrible. Was she bleeding from everywhere?

She was just starting to. She was feeling tired even after great nights of sleep and a good, healthy diet. She went to her GP and was told she was just malnourished. Some prescription vitamins would do it.

As she was about to leave she also mentioned that she had developed a rash on her thigh. The GP looks at it and said, "You are bleeding out. Go to the ER immediately."

She went and some hero diagnosed her as poisoned. They drew a lot of blood and began testing for poison. They also began giving her more blood. Her vitals were dropping and they were still stumped.

A hemotologist happened to be there and was consulted after a few hours. She told them it was a rare blood disease in the TTP family. They began plasmapheresis and saved her life.

She spent two weeks in there getting plasmapheresis twice daily but was not getting better. I found a world class specialist in TTP at Shands, in Gainesville. I asked her hemotologist if we should consult him and they shipped my wife to Shands the next day.

She stayed there 5 weeks and eventually got better. 80 milligrams of prednosone made her marrow kick in and made her spleen stop killing her blood.

TTP has returned twice but she now knows what to look for so she goes to the hospital before it gets bad.

he last time, her low red cell count gave her a heart attack and my daughter was able to drive her to the ER because I was at work. She also found out that time that she had a little thyroid cancer.

Once she healed from the heart attack, she had a small portion of her thyroid cut out. Sounds like a mess huh?

I forgot to mention. She valet parked for her "poison" stay and one of the valet workers stole her car. 8 weeks later the state mailed me a ticket for her car running a toll booth.

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Her and I can lift the back end of an F-150 now.

Good luck with your wife tonight.

Damn man. My wife is good. She is out and stoned.

She lost 2-3 ounces of weight. Appendix.

Thanks for helping me pass some time.

Give the doc a $20 and ask him to throw in two extra stitches.

Glad to hear your wife is good and that she didn't lose anything she may need later.

As a side note, my wife was a former pro athlete and was in good shape. Also, most people that will be graduating from LSU this spring were born after I got married.

One of the worst things was driving to Gainesville every weekend and having to hear her Dr. call me a corn dog. Shands is located on the UF campus.

He was a Dr. Phil looking MF'er but he kept her alive until she got better so I didn't thump him.

I scroll to the bottom of this thread and there's an ad that says "government urges citizens to get health insurance"

Sorry it made me chuckle

Then he should come on here and defend his manhood. And his Asian family's honor.
