In need of some new work boots. Of course they will not see any actual work, but rather just casual attire and need to be able to be dressed up for church. My last pair were these but looking to switch it up....

Bass Pro and Cabelas have tons of boots on clearance right now, there are some steals. I just got some $100 muck boots for $45.

Red Wing has an imported brand, Irish Setter, that has worked well for me. Been through all the other brands, including Red Wing, and those are the best I’ve found. I’ve worn other work boots with price tags approaching $400, but these (about $150 IIRC) are the best I’ve found.

OTOH, my work requires steel shanks (for ladder/pole climbing), so they weigh a ton. Thankfully they don’t require steel toes. But, yeah, Irish Setter eight inch lace up boots with steel shanks. That’s my main go to for outside work.

If you’re not actually working in them, why not get a decent pair of Justins or maybe Luchesse (sp?). I’ve got some old calfskin Justin Ropers that are at least 25 years old. Just resole them ever so often, throw on some polish, and they keep on going.
