Thinking of surprising my wife with an overnight stay ... as this will be the only way she will stay.
Ghost or no ghost, which room is recommended?

went last summer, we stayed in the john leake room. It was one of the more affordable ones. No real complaints. It was older but clean. Private bathroom unlike some rooms i believe. On the 2nd floor, it faces the courtyard. The view is just ok

Think the restaurant just burnt down. See you at the Francis

Did you or your significant other experience anything that could be classified as paranormal?
I've been two or three times before for a tour, but have never stayed. I find all this stuff fascinating. I want to believe, but am somewhat skeptical.

Quite possible. Looking to go in April. Doubtful that the restaurant at The Myrtles will be open by then.

Do you have the freedom at night (as a guest of the plantation) to roam throughout the house?
Did you get a chance to converse with other guests throughout the night?
And how soundproof are the walls and doors?

I think there are black people who work there. Proceed at your own risk.

We stayed in the Fannie Williams room with the freaky dolls.
I was hoping a hot ghost babe would molest me in the middle of the night.
I was disappoint

Yes, but they do have a "recommended" time for guests to be in their rooms. They lock the exterior doors and all side rooms. So you can't get into any other places.

Yes, bring a two way radio/keep cell phones on FaceTime. They also offer a tour with other guests. One is a ghost stories tour and the other is a history tour. Not too creepy.

Not at all. I'm certain the squeaky bed action made the entire house creak.

Weird, someone was telling me earlier today part of it burned down?
Edit: part of it, the restaurant LINK

Throughout the house, no, i dont believe. I believe the house is only opened for tours but i may be mistaken. You can roam the grounds outside, however.

We ate at the restaurant then roamed outside a little, and we ran into other guests. But once we retired for the night we stayed in the room.
To answer your question, no, we didnt experience anything out of the norm, but i guess the potential of it makes it somewhat exciting. I did sneak a doll in my bag and placed it on the bathroom floor in the middle of the night to scare the g/f. That was funny

didnt find it loud but also i dont think they have done anything special with them. Everything is pretty old. You hear creaks and movement every once in awhile

Yes. I don't believe in ghosts but found no way to explain a mysterious earring that appeared in our room overnight. I checked the entire room - every inch - before we went to bed for secret passages/spy holes/ anything unusual. I actually looked under every piece of furniture etc.
The location of the earring suggested it could only have been placed there during the night. It could not have been thrown under the door, down the chimney, through a window or anything. No explanation.

Well the kitchen caught fire the other day. So I'd check in before you plan anything

I'll check it out. This is one of those experiences where I probably won't get my wife to ever go again ... so whatever the price is, I'll pay it.

Holy shite. I just saw a picture of this cabin.
I'd like to say I would book this room, but man ... that looks freeky.
