Need Help: Silent Generation using a smart phone...

My 80 year old Mom had to replace her phone a few weeks ago with a Motorola Edge, same phone I have.
She has early Parkinson's, IOW occasional tremors, that makes using phones difficult.
But she keeps turning her phone into Do Not Disturb mode, which I can't do without deliberate swipes.
Does anyone have any idea how she could accidently be setting her phone to DND? It's a big problem for me since I live less than a mile away and her friends and my sister freak when she doesn't answer the phone, so I have to go check, and turn DND off her phone.
It got me this week when after a night with Nicole I called and it went to voicemail. Really didn't want to go out into 40mph winds to find out she hadn't even noticed the storm.
Is there a way to accidentally place a Moto Edge into Do Not Disturb by someone with tremors?

My mom has Parkinson's, the tech knowledge will get much worse, my mom used to order a pizza online, now she butt dials me because she doesn't know who called her.
I REALLY SUCKS, but this isn't a case of it gets better before it gets worse.

butt dials
Maybe this is the answer to the OP's question. Don't know my way around a Moto Edge, but maybe it's a butt dial thing where the she's activating it be sitting on it just the right way.
Edit: When you have an incoming call on a Moto Edge, is there a "Do Not Disturb?" prompt that pops up, and does the setting stick even for all future incoming calls unless deactivated?

Honestly you got her the wrong phone. Go back and get her this one.

If she saw the word Alzheimers assosiated with anything I bought here, she would freak the frick out. And the last phone she had was a simple one, but she wants to text, email, photo share, etc.
Sometimes I wonder if she's just frickin with me for things I did 40 years ago.

Good clues here on Motorola website
I Googled the wrong thing.
Thank You!!!!!!
I see how she is doing it now. And it shows how detached I've come from technology. How I missed that I have no clue.
God Damn I'm feeling old...

I had a grandma with Parkinsons who I spent time with every single day trying to teach her to use a phone, I tried to make it as simple as possible, simply didn't work
I'd look into one of those Senior friendly phones

RAZ has a link on their website to HUNDREDS of accessibility apps. I am sure you can find one that doesn't offend her. My wife's father in his 80's has an accessibility app on his phone and it is stupid simple to use but you probably should look through the options and pick something out that fits her.

Some devices have the shittiest UIs. Go to any local att or similar store and ask. Sometimes they have ppl who actually might know and want to help regardless of service provider or phone. Might be easier than searching bullshite websites if not technically inclined.

Honestly I think something like this is one of the only remaining use cases for an old fashioned landline.
