Looking at these two…don’t need anything fancy. I have a Ring Pro at my own home. They just want something that can be hardwired, still have the regular old doorbell sound inside. The subscription package will take care of the rest. I’m just wondering if there is a difference between these two I posted…?

But is that it? Considering the descriptions are slightly different

Ring Retinal Vision (available in Retinal 2K and Retinal 4K) is Ring’s premium imaging and AI technology designed to dramatically boost video clarity, color, and depth . It optimizes video resolution and low-light performance so you can easily identify faces, read package labels, and see details even when zooming .

Ring doorbell

In many jurisdictions, the Police Department have agreements in place allowing them to access Ring cameras remotely, they don’t even need to come knock and ask if you caught anything anymore.

As an FYI incase you give a frick about privacy.

Why do you need a doorbell?

You are just asking the neighbors to come over for a quick bite.

In my neighborhood they stop by all the time, no big deal. Just always have doughnuts handy as a good host.

I’ll never have one and wish they didn’t exist. Not worried who’s at my door. My large barking dogs send door knockers running before I even get to the door.

Considering my parents are in their 70’s and don’t deal drugs, and I am their most frequent visitor, I’m not too worried about this. They are at the age where they think someone ringing the doorbell has something important, when it’s usually the opposite. The option to talk to a stranger and see the goings on in front is worth whatever privacy they will lose.

So how does the hacking turn into a swatting episode. Can’t people just call in something bogus and get someone swatted?

Spill the beans hoss. We want more details than "the cops kicked my door in at 2am because someone hacked my ring camera."

Holy shite brother! Wow. That's fricking unreal. Thank God you didn't come down guns blazing or they come in guns blazing and things turning out even worse. That's insane. Wow.

My wife woke me up and said someone was shining a light through the door trying to break in. She was up feeding our 6 month old. So I grabbed my .300 blkout and once I got in the hall I heard the sheriffs come over the loud speaker so I went and put it up.

By the time I got back, I saw 6 of them with rifles and a sledge hammer coming through the door.

It was insane

Edit: in the news video, they said they saw me crawling around in the ground, which is a crock of shite. I dove in the ground after they shattered my door in
