Not exactly...Husbands divorce was finalized years ago but the ex wife still has the mortgage in his name. According to the Judgment, she had 1 year to get it in her name. We have asked her to take care of it but she says she can't. So we have finally started taking steps to force her to sell if she can't refinance and now all of a sudden my stepdaughter won't be able to come here to visit for her fall break. Ex-wife is using her for leverage.

I guess you wouldn't know this unless you have any time on the interstate system in AL...

if you had a dream team of the best lawyers money could buy it's too late for making anything happen in time for fall break

ETA: if chinhoyang pops up, I think he knows of a rec in that area

Yeah, I know nothing can be done in time for Fall Break but I want to go ahead and get prepared to fight this for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

that's what I was referring to(what is fall break if that isn't?), the wheels of "justice" turn at incredibly slow rpm, good luck

I live in Bham and got custody of my daughter when she was 11 months old. She is 7 now. Her mom wasn’t on drugs or anything, I simply had better counsel. 2 women representing the father.

They used to be in the same practice, but are not anymore.

Allison Hood Rains - point blank outstanding. Not a fighter like Wendy, but highly respected. She would rather keep things civil, but can turn on the fire in a heartbeat.

Wendy Crew - She will stir the pot, but is very successful. Virtually hated by everyone (except her own clients). Get ready to shell out some money, not cheap. Honestly, I didn’t even think about the money at the time and now I realize it was the best investment I have ever made. She did her job, meaning I won as an unwed father in Alabama. She is considered the #1 family law attorney in the state (based on her win percentage) in most circles. She is HEARTLESS if that’s what your after.

In my battle... My ex-fiancé had moved out with my daughter while I was at work and virtually emptied the house; however, she LEFT HER 4 LEGGED CAT! My attorney used it against her as “the abandonment of a live being that depended on her for care!” She also served my ex in the middle of her birthday party in front of all her friends and family at a nice restaurant in town. The second time she had her served in the middle of church.
