Look man, not here for any chesty arguments. I have 9 years of perfect renters history. Never once broke a lease or missed a rent payment.

Just in a bad situation and super short on time.

If money is not an issue, why not just buy a place?

Look in Rankin County or Madison County. Jackson is a deadly shite hole

I know I’ll get the dumb Jackson jokes.

So, you've been there? You're familiar with the place?

Good deal.

Why are you here, then?

Give him a break. With all the shite the gov has done to frick landlords, they are vetting hard.

I did. I take it all back. This situation isn't what I faced 9 years ago. It's fricked up and seems like owners are going for, and getting, a perfect mix of section 8 and renters with 750+ credit score.

Ridgeland area wasn't too bad when i was there on business recently.

There are really three areas of Ridgeland.

You have the County Line rd/Hwy 51 stretch with Northpark area neighborhoods which are old and primarily working class blacks, but has transient Jackson hoods coming and going though 24hrs. Then there's the reservoir area of Ridgeland with most of your newer apartment complexes, mixed with upper middle class neighborhoods. Move over to NW Ridgeland, I-55 and you have the new area, which has a commercial shopping/office park section and the Old Town spot that's very small but really nice.

Ridgeland does offer a lot of in the way of outdoor recreation, especially biking. trails.

Look up Coker Farms. The owner also has rental properties. He’s a good dude and will probably work with you.

We used to live in shadowood. Great location. Great neighbors. Easy access to trails, grocery, restaurants. Loved that neighborhood

I don’t know about private landlords, but Flowood/Brandon/Ridgeland have a lot of apartment complex options. Crossgates, Arbors on the Rez, Ashford Place just to name a few.
