Need help deciding on a classic mid to high-end watch:

It needs to be my only watch, so I can change between NATO straps and the bracelet to look sporty/business casual/professional at a moment's notice.
I'm not flooding out tons of doe for some holy grail watch like a Patek Philippe Nautilus or Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (my dream watch)--way out of budget. The greatest watch I ever had was the Omega Speedmaster Professional Speedmaster, but ended up selling it--something I regret every day--wrist still feels naked. Was the 3570.50 model, hesalite glass, manual wind, only watch that can sustain 9Gs, which was the reason it was chosen by NASA for all manned space missions: picture of my boy, Buzz Aldrin, with his Speedie.
So here are my options:
-Repurchase the Omega Speedmaster Professional, hesalite glass, non-display back, lemania 1861 movement
-Rolex Explorer II (white face--looks more stealthy and you don't look like a tool wearing a Rolex Submariner).
-Rolex GMT Master II (like a Submariner, but I like the GMT function because I travel a lot, and I hate manually counting back or forward hours when jet lagged).
-Breguet Type XX
-Other suggestions?

Get the speedmaster again and don't think twice

Normally I’d suggest an Ironman Timex or Gshock, but since you’re looking for high-end; you’re probably gonna wanna go with something expensive like Fossil.

Just read ANY of the last 40 fricking threads on watches that have been on here and make a decision you stupid, no-watch wearing motherfricker.
Good luck with your decision and Merry Christmas.

Speedmaster is probably the answer. But the Sinn U1 is always a great "only" watch kind of timepiece. Looks great on bracelet, the kickass Sinn rubber strap with clasp and of course the NATOs and just about any nice leather strap. 4 o'clock crowns are are nice as well

I bought this one for myself for Christmas.

Nice suggestions, liking the Sinn and the Seamaster. Loving the IWC, would gobble up the Portuguese in a second, but for whatever reason they use Valjoux movements instead of developing in house. I hate watch snobbery as much as anyone else (ETA/Valjoux are better functionally/more reliably ironically), but it kills re-sale values--why I stay away from Breitling too.
Another option would be the Baume and Mercier Capeland at half the price of the Speedie, very underrated watch in my opinion and stunning to look at. Same Valjoux movement used in the IWC and looks even better in my opinion.

I have a Sinn U1 my Wife bought me as a 10th Anniversary present. It's a great timepiece and it can be worn with a suit or casual wear. Can't go wrong with a Sinn U1!

I’d go with the Pepsi GMT, it’s such a classic.

You hate watch snobbery? Sounds like you personify it....

Oh spare me the snobbery talk........you ooze it. Thing is, you don’t walk the walk.

The first step is denial. We're a long way from acceptance buddy. I'm trying to tone it down: a watch snob without a collection, let alone a watch haha.

Are you really that worried about time that you need a 3500+ dollar watch?

The Explorer II also has the 24 hand which can be set independent of the hour hand but it does not have the rotating bezel. The Explorer II polar is a really good looking watch. I ended up getting my son a birth year explorer II for graduation and It looks really good. I think you will be very happy with this choice.
According to Prince Harry they are really durable also.
