I have one I’ll sell you if you’re interested. I’ll sell it for exactly what I bought it for, 200 bucks.

While I agree with this I have a conflicted view on watches: I see some very nice watches that I really like the looks of but would never buy simply because I haven't worn a watch, ring, or any other jewelry in 40+ years. Then I see someone post a photo and think "wow that's beautiful and yes I can afford it, but why when it's just going to sit in a box on a shelf?"
Yeah I know, some people are collectors and I get that too.
YMMV

I have a few real watches and a couple of great fakes. I bought the fakes I have off a Redit page. This Pam is a fake with a genuine case, crystal and Swiss movement. If I were looking for a fake Rolex I would search the internet and find one made by the old Watchmaker 9 factory. They ain’t cheap and are very hard to find.

MBK Center in Bangkok… There are dozens of stores selling high end replicas of Rolex and other luxury brands.. next time im there i plan on picking up what they call “high copies” of a Daytona, a Pepsi and possibly a Yachtmaster for when i want to go gaudy .. plan to pay about 4000 Thai baht ( around $115) each for the good replicas, or less if you buy multiple at once .

I'm sorry but this should be a crime and as a matter of fact I believe it actually is a crime and more importantly it's bringing down The Game because folks will always question whether cats are wearing an authentic swiss timepiece and not some fake arse bullshite - stahp it!!!

I almost bought one at a flea market in Malta when I was there in the 1980s. $30 US, IIRC.

I was actually thinking about doing this. I came across this site.
Perfect Rolex
Spending $200 on a watch that looks high-end, while saving $5-10k is the smart move. Watches are dumb.
All you wanna do is look like a baller, not blow money on something that tells you the time. These blowhards who scoff at replicas wouldn’t be able to tell the difference unless they examine it up close. On your wrist? No chance they can tell. None.
Spending $10k-$100k on a watch that just tells time is a waste, but sometimes rich people like to spend money on dumb stuff for fun (like A&M boosters).
Investing in assets like gold, silver, stocks, or real estate makes more sense.

Head to Reddit “Rep Time”. There are a lot of good resources there. For the record, I have real and clone high end watches. Up close and holding the watches, you can easily tell the clone. The quality is not as good. (Understandably so)

Of course you can.
All this "you cain't tell they diff'rent" is goofy.
That said, no one is gonna stare at someone's wrist because no one really cares that much.
Not sure why anyone would buy a fake; it seems vapid and insecure to me, but whatever...

I read an article recently that stated there are currently 24-Million Replica watches in circulation ( and more everyday) and the you have better odds of the watch you see on the street/message boards are fake.
Article state Reps have become so good they have duped reputable dealers and that have sold them to a customer. They made it right, but still scary. Apparently the Chinese are even producing exact copies of the stamped movement.

Really excellent fakes can fool dealers, but that's pretty rare.
My daughter will get my wife's and I'll pass mine down as well. Nobody wants a fake as an heirloom no matter how "good" they are.
I'm not at all surprised the Chinese are making fakes. They haven't had a single original thought in decades.

Yeah I could only imagine the complete disappointment of my kids getting the wife and I jewelery and watched only to learn they are fake. That would true suck.

Yep, great replication, with little innovation.

I bought a $25 knock off Yacht Master in NY in China Town in the late 90s. A guy in my hometown that was a big watch guy (an Engineer of course) offered me $200 for the band alone. Said it was one of the best knock off jobs he’d ever seen. So there’s that.

I dont quite understand your logic.. Help me understand the difference between buying a fake of a $35k piece, or of a $100k piece- i dont get it .
Because people won’t believe it’s real and will know it’s a fake. It’s all about perception.
In my early 20s I had a good friend who was going to propose to a girl and had the ring and everything. He found out she was cheating so he didn’t get engaged. Sold the ring and bought a real Rolex with the money. Everyone that saw him wear it thought it was fake. He used to get so pissed.
Now that I’m much older I have a friend that collects watches. He has a few Rolexes and wears them all the time. On occasion (like out to NOLA Mardi Gras parades) he will wear one of the fakes he has and no one questions him.
It’s all about whether people perceive you would own a real or a fake.

I wouldn't wear a Rolex to a Mardi Gras parade for a lot reasons.

What rapper was it , 50Cent that had all the fake Rolexes because he knew everyone would assume they were real?
