Dude, this is a Yahoo article... right there ought to discredit the source
its a yahoo article about research from Duke Medicine. If you don't like or find Yahoo trustworthy I'm sure other outlets wrote articles about the findings. Duke has or will publish something

Ain’t nobody down here wearing fleece. My company has made and sold over a million of a 5oz. FR knit that has excellent barrier properties.

You can bet your arse that they are going to force public schools to be the first ones to really latch onto this.

I just dont give a frick. If I'm forced to wear something, I'm going to be as comfortable as possible.
Feel free to stay at home, or not be fat, if you don't like what i choose to wear.

This is why I'd much prefer controlled studies that measure lower or higher COVID-19 incident rates.
Yes
We just don’t know how it’s transmitted yet

This study doesn't take into account distance traveled of such particles.
FAU did a study that showed bandanas reduce the distance those particles travel to about 3 ft vs 8 ft uncovered. Not as good as the other choices but far from the boogie man they are trying to portray.
Here's a picture of a folded handkerchief
Here's a video that shows it better from Youtube
