You act like the 400 officers were all coordinated, communicating properly, given schematics of building, and knew exactly what was happening inside the entire time.

I am not condemning the fed, state, and officers from other counties showing up 20 to 30 minutes afterwards and being told false info that stayed outside as directed. Yes it may have taken longer than it should to have to realize the local response was a cluster, but let’s not act like 400 officers were there from beginning and also aware of all facts from beginning.


Behind every major screw up in this is the school district. Failed shooter as a student including possibly ignoring truancy required steps when he was still 17, failed active shooter training and plan with the chief being in charge of active shooter response knowing it would involve multiple outside law enforcement officers, failed school security with doors that day and in past and communication during lockdown, failed with their police force response after killer entered school including its communication, and leadership at school with other officers arriving.

State has to look at authority of school district police forces and distinguish between thefts, fights, selling drugs on campuses and active shooter responses. I can see some benefit in having dedicated officers with a spread out rural district, but there are certain things a 6 person force is always going to need to automatically in law defer to larger forces regardless of it happening on a campus. District’s police force seemed like a glorified security team whose chief should have never been allowed to be commanding active shooter responses much less helping to make the plan.

How is a kid still in bathroom and unaccounted for by teachers after lockdown?

I worked in Uvalde once about 11 years ago. It's not a big town. I doubt Uvalde has that many law enforcement officers. Now if we're talking about Highway Patrol, Border Patrol, Sheriff's Dept, City Police, etc. I can maybe see it, but even then that seems like a shite ton of people.

They didn’t attempt to look into the windows until 12:47? Are you fricking kidding me? That would be my second plan after storming the classroom, and he waited over a fricking hour for that?
