I once was having a discussion of aliens with an atheist friend of mine. One of the theories that I identified that attempts to reject the idea that aliens have visited the Earth, is that every alien description you've seen about aliens have them as basically humanoid. Two arms, two legs, two eyes, a nose and a mouth. From a strictly statistical point of view, what are the odds that a creature from another would would have a humanoid body type plan, laid our exactly like ours?
My atheist friend then piped up, "Yeah, but the bible says that God created man in his image. What if he just created all the other aliens in his image too?" That one kind of knocked me for a loop (esp from him), and I didn't have a good reply at the time.

Technically, he said what the bible said and then added a what if. He did not say that agreed with it.
I think at the end of the discussion, we both agreed that time traveling humans would be easier to explain via the limitations of know science than aliens from another planet.

my thing is scientists always try to say that a place can or cannot support life based on oxygen and temperature or whatever else. why cant life on other places have been created (or evolved) to meet the needs of life on that planet?
