Don’t people know that’s disrespectful? I heard today that people in Carolina should accept the hurricane flooding their homes because God’s plan

What the hell?

I feel like I haven't seen a thread started by you in a while. Can we go back to that?

God just has a really sick sense of humor I think. He sends "natural" disasters and gives babies cancer just prove he can. He such a dick like that.

Some Christians believe in pre-destination. I think it's silly and sad to believe that we are all just puppets and can do nothing to change our future. Some believe God has a plan for us, but we have free will, it's just that he wants us to follow His plan. That sounds better to me. But I don't think hurricanes and other natural disasters that kill people are part of some grandiose plan.

Perhaps it should just remind us of the impermanence of everything (including ourselves) and put things (literal and figurative) into perspective.

You just can't praise god for all the good 'he' does and ignore all the bad shite 'he' has planned for us. One must praise god for allowing such plentiful abundance of water to be drop over our lands in such a short time. God is good.

i always just sit back and let Drake's lyrics resonate within me.

God's plan, God's plan
I hold back, sometimes I won't, yuh
I feel good, sometimes I don't, ay, don't
I finessed down Weston Road, ay, 'nessed
Might go down a G.O.D., yeah, wait
I go hard on Southside G, yuh, Way
I make sure that north-side eat
And still
Bad things
It's a lot of bad things
That they wishin' and wishin' and wishin' and wishin'
They wishin' on me
Bad things
It's a lot of bad things
That they wishin' and wishin' and wishin' and wishin'
They wishin' on me
Yuh, ay, ay

Belief in magic displays an ignorance of basic physics.

It drives me crazy to hear someone, who was simply lucky to survive a tornado for example claim, "God saved me, it was a miracle." Totally ignoring death and destruction all around them.

Believers are forced to deny science taught at LSU.
