National Park Memorial to Flight 93 needs to be more defiant

Has anyone visited it?
Maybe the overall impression is different in person?
Besides the memorial type aspect of the Tower of Voices, I'd like to see a monument that makes statement about the spirit of the passengers and the powerful testament to our country their action was.
An Eagle/Phoenix rising from the ashes would be a good start...

Looks beautiful and a place of solitude to me. What do you want? Flames, fireworks, etc?

Don't want to take away anything from those people, but I just wonder if the Gov didn't just shoot down that plane.
God bless their souls.

I mean, the fact that this memorial is in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania and not in the middle of Washington DC I think is testament enough.

And a perfect platform to band your population together with a story about how they fought back. This is nothing like the 9-11 conspiracies.

There are eye witnesses that saw the plane hit the ground ... it wasnt shot
I have been to the site. It was very somber, much more than the NYC memorial, very quiet not a lot of people.

Ever watch GB interview about 9/11 and what he said and the look on his face? It was a look of discuss when he stated he gave orders to shoot down any planes that didn't land right away when the order came out to ground all planes nation wide.
Oh, I watched it again last night.

lol where are the fragments that would have hit the ground if it was "shot down" Dont you think on a clear day in Pennsylvania a lot of people would have seen this.

Wow, did not think the idea of an Eagle taking flight in tribute to heroes would get down votes.
Didn't mean to step on anybody's way of paying tribute today.
REALLY didn't mean to inspire conspiracy theorists.
For doubters there is a chilling audio and transcript of the flight recorder. And the testimony of folks receiving calls from passengers.
Reading the transcript is what made me feel we need to do more for those that took action.

"Wainio called her stepmother at 09:53:43 and concluded, four and a half minutes later, by saying, "I have to go. They're breaking into the cockpit. I love you.
"Jarrah dialed in the VHF omnidirectional range (VOR) frequency for the VOR navigational aid at Reagan National Airport at 09:55:11 to direct the plane toward Washington, D.C.
Bradshaw, on the phone with her husband, said "Everyone is running up to first class. I've got to go. Bye."[68] Beamer told Jefferson that the group was planning to "jump on" the hijackers and fly the plane into the ground before the hijackers' plan could be followed through.
Beamer recited the Lord's Prayer and the 23rd Psalm with Jefferson, prompting others to join in. Beamer requested of Jefferson, "If I don't make it, please call my family and let them know how much I love them." After this, Jefferson heard muffled voices and Beamer answering, "Are you ready? Okay. Let's roll." These were Beamer's last words to Jefferson.

Or all the conversations the people on the plane had with their families about what they were going to do to try and take the plane back (and then doing it).
9/11 consiracy theorists should be rounded up and sent to a Hadji island.

There were orders given to shoot down the plane if they wanted. Why would they cover it up if orders were permitted to shoot down planes?
And lets not forget the #1 reason conspiracy theories are dumb.... no one can keep a secret...

I have visited the site and lived near it for years.
It's a great memorial that speaks about the heroism and sacrifice those passengers made. The Tower of Voices is only a tiny spot in the entrance to the giant park. It's a suitable and powerful memorial for the people who died there.
You don't leave that memorial with any doubt about the selfless acts of the heroes on that plane that fought back.

i can get you eye witnesses to anything i want. What can the government do.
If it were shot down with a missile, there would be many crash sites with pieces of the plane all over the countryside.
