Nah. They're the same problem. One just tugs at the heart strings more and the other doesn't even register, even when a couple kids are killed in the hood.

This. It is all part of the same problem, and yes, the actual gun is just a tool, but one that is so convenient.

what really needs to happen is a crack down and increased penalties on both gun theft and the possession of stolen guns

not sure what we can do when it comes to mental headcases losing it and shooting up a school, but day to day gun violence would take a real nose dive imo

At this point, I have just accepted that it is a matter of when, not if, I will be closely affected by gun violence. It is who we are as Americans.

Okay, Karen.

Therein lies the catch 22. The people advocating for stricter laws for acquiring or possessing guns are the same people not locking up people who violate the gun laws that already exist. The statutory sentences for gun crimes are severe. The problem is we have too many DAs and judges who don’t like enforcing the laws we have

Because a majority of the offenders like to play basketball.

Yep, the Michigan State shooter should've been locked up but the DA let him plea down to a misdemeanor. That same DA openly talked about how felony gun charges disproportionately affect black men so we have to be "careful."

So we have a heart problem. I agree.

We need to turn off the TV, phone, PC, etc. We need to start reading. Literature is the oldest medium that we can gain historic knowledge from.

There are far too many incidents to cite, but a lot of horrible crimes never would have happened if the people who committed them had served full sentences for their previous crimes instead of serving a fraction of them…or bonds weren’t being reduced to pennies on the dollar for serious aggravated violent felonies. I’m tired of reading stories about a murder when the dude who did was out on a $2000 bond for some other incredibly violent offense.

Your point?

A child being murdered is a child being murdered regardless of the weapon being used.

Well, nothing makes you transgender because it’s absolute imagination.

Have they released the manifesto yet? This one should be fun for the whole family.

Might want to note that they now don’t include gang shootings as mass shootings, regardless of how many people are shot.

They don't? Obama changed the definition so he could claim there was an epidemic o mass shootings, but I guess the stats weren't lining up with the left's bullshite, so they did a quick change back.

Never forget!

That’s because democrats don’t give two shits about black people until it’s election time.

CNN - Gun violence, gun control.

No mention of mental health or tranny.

There was a time “mental health” was a major part of the liberal platform. When you normalize all things mentally I’ll..I guess there is no need to focus on treatment (or keep them away from guns).

The idea of traffic laws is to encourage the majority of the general public to abide by those laws and not create chaos on the roads. Laws create structure.

Gun laws also encourage a majority of the general public to abide by those laws and not create chaos on the streets. 300m guns out there and a huge majority of them are not used to kill people, Rob people, assault people, scare people, etc.

Same for drug deaths….

There are more people killed every year by drugs and cars than murdered by guns…

They apparently did drills for this situation at school in the past couple of weeks.
Shooter drills seem so counter-productive to me. So much school and media policy seems to add to the likelihood of future school shootings. Why not train the adults how to handle the extremely unlikely scenario, and why not create a media policy of not amplifying shooter profiles?

eta: the drill discussion may not apply to this specific instance given the age of the shooter, but imo a good thing to generally reconsider

It's okay if it's an unproven "vaccine." "Do your part." Faucci killed children everyday and is lauded as a hero.

Just now watching Fox. I told my husband when they said it was a woman, I said I bet you $1 million it's a transgender.
