That's a lot of words to say that it's ok because it's what everyone else is doing, that they're just trying to diversify, and that hiring based purely on race is acceptable.
If there were minorities interested in NASCAR, and NASCAR was popular, there would be more people of minority status working for NASCAR.
Plus, there's way different methods to attract minorities to a business if that's ones goal. How about a NASCAR job fair at a low income school, or an outreach to show minority kids what working at nascar is like? Hell, go to a frickin JUCO mechanic program with a high rate of minority attendance and recruit from there.

Of course there is a thread on TD of white people bitching that they arent allowed to apply for a position specifically created to up racial diversity in their sport. I guess life is just so unfair for us whiteys now days. We cant do anything anymore.
Yall do realize that the only reason a white person would want to force a company to hire them for a position created for diversity is that they want to actively STOP diversity, right? For me, NASCAR is the socialist form of racing. When someone gets too far ahead they throw a caution and everyone else gets to catch back up. Nothing like a fake debris caution to liven up a race.
I am a big motorsports fan but have never really been interested in NASCAR. To make it more odd I worked in Budd Moore's shop as a teenager. I feel the same way about INDYCAR except when they run road courses or the Indy 500.
