That the Martian premiers Friday in theaters everywhere?

Seems like everyone thinks they're going to announce that they found liquid water on Mars.

Mars has had a side piece it hid behind it from the Earth and it's a trangendering moon.

I thought that was already known. I watched a NASA news feed the other day and they were talking about water seeps in canyons.

Obama let NASA do this in their spare time while making peace with ISIS??

They have long since found evidence that flowing water existed on Mars at one time. a big announcement would they found water CURRENTLY flowing on Mars, even bigger would be they found salt water currently flowing. That would all but guarantee that there is microbial life somewhere there.

That they found more rocks and it's time to pack up the rover and head home.

You know that rover's going to die a slow, agonizing death on that planet, right?

A NASAWatch reader artfully tipped us off to this session of the European Planetary Science Congress 2015 in France on Monday, 28 September - and one paper authored by several of the participants (McEwen and Ojha) in the NASA press conference:
17:00-17:15 EPSC2015-786 Recurring Slope Lineae on Mars: Atmospheric Origin?, AS McEwen, M Chojnacki, C Dundas, L Ojha, M Masse, E Schaefer, and C Leung
"Recurring Slope Lineae (RSL) are seasonal flows or seeps on warm Martian slopes. Observed gradual or incremental growth, fading, and yearly recurrence can be explained by seasonal seeps of water, which is probably salty. The origin of the water is not understood, but several observations indicate a key role for atmospheric processes. If sufficient deliquescent salts are present at these locations, the water could be entirely of atmospheric origin."

Those things were suppose to die years ago right?

Spirit and Opportunity, yea. Curiosity, not yet. He's still got a few years in him if I recall correctly.
The first two had 90 day life spans. Spirit got stuck in a mudhole and died only because of that after about 7 years. Opportunity is still alive and active. Honest to God, how these two droids are still alive is one of space's great mysteries that no one can explain.

The first two did LONG outlive their lifespans. fricking troopers they were.
Imagine how much longer they would have lasted had NASA not been forced to send the Quran into deep space for aliens to read.
