I hate the " out the door" people. They dont understand thats not how it works. Someone some day will buy this car. I treat all people the same and just because your interested in the car doesnt mean I will get controlled. We do an old school version of car sales. If you dont like that we only mark the xar up 2 to 4k and insist we only pay 500 for these cars then have a nice day.

Sorry you don't care for people who want to make the best deal they can for themselves.

I have three of four dealerships (different brands each) I buy from, I look up trucks they have in stock on the web and ask them for a cash (well, actually a check) price out the door for their respective vehicle(s). They all respond, I guess they aren't offended. I really don't care though if they are. I've bought from all four at some point. They know I'm not just tire kicking.

I'm not surprised that people buying a new car with cash are entitled. They are already patting their backs for being thrifty before they walk in.

I feel bad for car salesmen too, but the whole system is shite. Why are car and furniture places the only establishments where you feel like you walked into a third world bazaar when you shop? Just tell me the price of the damn car.

This was about 10 years ago at a major dealership in BR. Used Volvo for under 22K (I think). BIL is a true OT baller but doesn't believe in buying new. They had just sold a condo for a 35k profit and put it on discover card to pay it off at the end of the month.

They're going to find out. Every dealer knows they can either get your money on the price of the car, or financing.

I have no idea.

Everyone knows the dealer "makes more financing", but why that would make any difference to the buyer is beyond me.

This right here.

I tell them what I'm paying; the car+ tax + $100 for TTL and doc. That's OTD.

I email it to 'em (they hate that) and until I get confirmation, I don't come. Eff all that silly BS.

We charge 7.7 for tax, 500 for doc and 18 for title. Along with interest which depends 100% on YOUR credit how the shite does a salesperson tell you what they can do.
Also to the people that come in after researching everything knowing what you want, ther is a proven 82% of the last 5 years that those people will buy somethinf different.
I had one today that I had to spend 5 hours with and drove 6 different cars and trucks to get her approved and in something she liked.

There will always be salespeople. Most people need them. The normal person cant go online and find something they like without ever driving, seeing or feeling the car.

Kind of depends on current interest rates. I'd rather have 30K given to me now to invest at say a 10% return versus loaning someone 35K and only getting 3.9% return.

I don't need a salesperson to "drive, see, or feel" a car. You could pay someone $10/hr to sit there while I test drive it.

Also from my earlier post it was not an insult to anyone on their buying techniques but if you come to me with a rude attitude you will be treated like a cold. It had everything to do with controlling the sell. If you can't control them then you have lost. In every sell all parties should win at some point.
Sorry people I know you try to get the best deal, but you don't get gas and say I've done research, you only pay 3 a gallon I'll give you 3.01.

All businesses are there to make money and we're going to try and make as much as possible.
I could have sold a raptor today for 54k but we will wait for the next butter that comes in because of what it is.

Were talking about online sales sites that you buy the car before you see it. I've never sold one cat that the customer hasn't asked me one single thing about an option or warranty or scheduling appointments etc.

Entitlement; The salesperson that builds relationships and a customer base has potential to make easily over 100k a year. It's not for everyone just like teaching, being an attorney, a contractor, a doctor, etc. etc. isn't for everyone. However there are some very successful salespeople out there that generate 70% of their business of of repeat referral business. Customers these days think they know more than the salesperson, that they don't want to go back and forth, yada yada yada. The beauty of it is car buying is one of the last things available that you can truly negotiate. Isn't it a great thing!? Loosen up a little you bunch of angry buyers lol.

Based on the responses of car salesman in this thread, it think TigerWise's next career is clearly going to be a car dealer. Y'all sound just alike

I work at the biggest ford dealership in tenessee. Most of my business is repeat or referral. I'm brutally honest and blunt with my customers. I build great relationships with them buy or not but I use the straight line system that jordan belfort invented, the wolf of wall street guy, some people love it some don't. But over the last 3 years I've averaged a 78 percent sales rate per people that I see face to face. So I would say it works.

Have been thinking about moving back home to br soon and joining with hollingsworth
