I've shopped cars all over the country. $499 is a joke.

I guarantee you, everyone pays it without question.

And sorry to hear you think its a joke. Obviously you have a hard time understanding that we have the lowest in the area and people appreciate it. Because if you stand behind it nobodies complains.

Go to the gas station and tell jihad hes a crook, tell him he pays 2.50 for his gas and that your only giving him 2.51, you dont care about his business and his family.

Diamonds, cell phones, real estate and cars are the only things you can negotiate on and people call us crooks... shite were the only places you can not pay the asking price!

$499 doc is a cash grab and it's definitely not paid by everyone without question, that is impossible. People HATE doc fees and fight tooth and nail against them, it's one of the stupider things a dealership makes you "overcome" when there's no need to

Been there, blame free market capitalism. Unfortunately, at some point the industry felt the vehicles should be negotiable and here we are. You'll make more money and be more relaxed when you stop representing your dealership and start representing yourself. You're your own little entity and business in it's own way there, don't let them frick your brand up

$499 is not a cheap doc fee. Ours is $94.50 and it's worked into the bottom line of every deal up front. If you charge one customer a doc fee you have to charge every customer a doc fee. It's gonna be listed on every retail deal you do. You may discount a doc fee off your bottom line but you do that by the adjusting your sale price. It will still be listed on every deal so every person pays it whether they want to or not....or they just dont buy the car

This. I had it permanently listed at $495 at my last dealership and if someone didn't want to pay it they still "paid it" since it was listed. No one benefits except the dealership from that

I just don't see the car buying experience ever being able to withstand totally cutting the franchisee off. There's got to be a "middle man" because if you think dealerships are fricked up with their tactics just wait until you're buying directly from the conglomerate and not a local guy with ties to your old high school and shite

Well, it's not. And you acting like every single person you sell to is just peachy with paying $499 for doc fees tells me you either sell to nothing but idiots, or you're lying.

At this point I'm going with the latter.

Doc fee of 495 at Cookville Nissan.

Them adding it to the price we agreed to on the phone was part of the reason I walked out without my Maxima.

Everyone "pays" it and I don't think he's lying. He's been trained and, trust me, you've got to believe to say it as often as he does to people. Your boy is just making a living, I'm just trying to show him the hypocrisy in some of the teachings and, to me, learning why you sound like an a-hole even though what you're saying is the truth is pretty awesome when you're in sales

I'm a dealer and absolutely love the industry. Doc fee of 495 is a joke. I've seen as high as 899. Ours is 100.00. Its has never been an issue.

*ahem*

"Sir, the price I have for you is out the door. No, no, no fees or anything extra, all added in already. I wouldn't drive 5 minutes or 5 hours without all the information when I'm spending this much, why would I let you do that?"

And you just overcame the doc fee problem
