I know it will always be charged, but his price better be $399 better than a competing dealer if eh wants a sale from me

I know it's a line item that won't get removed, but the price of the vehicle will be adjusted accordingly or I walk.

I'll never believe all his customers are OK with that figure though.

Not bad. Do you guys have any assistants that can help (paid hourly) so that you can have time off?

I'm with you though...some months days off are not possible. I used the assistants sometimes, but im not a huge fan of anyone else working with my customers.

That's how it's handled, no one but the dealer wins still

I sold a car to this couple on Monday. I brought the car for them to look at, they drove it, and I signed over the title to them. Took all of 30 minutes, and there weren't and hidden fees. I had it listed at $9k, and we negotiated for about 10 seconds. I was happy and they got a good deal. Dunno why anyone would want to go through the big dealership BS anymore.

The highest I got offered on a trade was $6250, and dealerships had them listed for $10-13k. They are all greedy and shady as hell.

I worked in the industry over ten years ago and most of the dealers had a doc fee of $199. Everyone paid it but if it was a sticking point I just adjusted the price of the vehicle. I always included it in the negotiated price. It was very, very rare that someone objected.

With a minimum of $1000-$1200 recon, plus basic overhead of running a business (payroll, advertising, coke and four holes whores) that's a fair number. Profit isn't a dirty word and coming out at 2k (assuming this is one of the 10k dealers) isn't fricking anyone over

Your car was worth 9k retail it was a piece of shite or old and both require a shite load of recon to be deemed lot ready

"Um, no" Jesus Christ, go get a set of fricking tires, that's a grand there. To be clear, dealers pay for the reconditioning just like you would if not at a bit of a discount (though they generally deal with outside vendors for this) and $1000-$1200 is absolutely nothing when it comes to getting your jizz stains off the back seat

Btw it's no one in particular getting me fired up. It's the multitude of times I've had to answer all of these questions, all of them, and had to be nice and sweet and smiling when I wanted to just get right next to their ear and yell all of my answers. This shite is catharsis

Thats when I sell you on myself and why you shoulf buy from me. I never have a problem building great rapport while staying on the line of sale. I think I get that from years of running a bar.

It's people man, they're buying you and the experience much more than the car whether they'll ever admit it or not is up for debate but we know

1000-1200 could be conservative on that old of a unit. Wholesale all day long; not even worth messing with.

Exactly, I was trying to be nice

ETA: but I only desked new car deals and went straight to F&I, my only real training on appraisals is just absorbed through 4+ years of management and working deals. The guys that really know their shite, man, it's incredible. I've seen a guy pick out a repaint on a white diamond escalade (MAYBE a whole shade off) in the pouring arse rain. I couldn't see through the windshield and he's sending the shite back to auction

If that couple paid more than 7500 for that car...congratulations. You split their heads.

ETA: coach, you're welcome to shoot me an email at seelsurun at gmail dot com if you really do need a guy. I have a job I'm in the interview process for that I really want but it's always good to see what else may be out there
