Was this her first DUI? I can't imagine someone would be required to blow into a breathylyzer 3 times a day for a first time offense. That sounds like someone who has a serious issue. Is she an alcoholic?
Edit: I see where you said this was her first offense. I find that incredibly hard to believe. She must have gotten a real a-hole of a judge to do that. I know someone who is on her 3rd DUI who has never had to do that. She never even got the breathalyzer installed in her car like she was supposed to and she is still free. Your wife has some awful luck or a really bad lawyer or there is a lot more to this than you are letting on.

Nobody on a first offense DUI has to blow into an "at home" breathylzer. I have a friend that got two in a year and he only had to get an interlock device installed in his car so he could get a hardship license
