Well, I have never been married (much less divorced) and haven’t read any responses to your post. If I were you, though, I would immediately go to talk to the best divorce attorney I could afford, lay all the cards out on the table, and find out the best way to approach the situation. I wouldn’t be worried so much about trying to “get her arse” as making sure I kept as much of my money and other assets as possible. You didn’t mention any children, and I imagine it’s better for you if none are involved.
Just keep emotion out of it, have a good plan figured out from A-Z with your attorney before proceeding, and do what’s best for you in a very businesslike way. That’s my advice.
