I know this guy is an idiot for leaving his keys in his truck, but man, its so damn sad that we have to worry about that shite as a society. Common decency and respect of fellow man and their belongings has just disappeared.

Really nice visiting my relatives that live in the sticks and not having to even think about shite like that. Some of them leave their windows down and keys on their visor and have been doing that for decades without an issue.

Since the keys were inside, they may have just thought it was one of those short term rental type things.

I had mine stolen from work in Lafayette years ago. Left to go offshore and put the keys in the door for my wife to pick it up the next morning. She gets there and no car. That was when we had a hurricane that night. Guy was walking down Kaliste Saloom and wanted to get out the rain.

Breaux Brdige police found him driving it a month later. The only thing he took was the satellite radio. Put 5k miles on it but it was still in good condition. We drove it for another year.

I know you're catching a bunch of heat in this thread, but I really do feel for you and I hope everything works out. At the least you'll learn from this and never put yourself in that position again. I left my work bag in the backseat of my car instead of my trunk for one night and when I came back to my car that morning the window was smashed. I got my work computer stolen along with other personal belongings. Point being that we all make "stupid" mistakes from time to time.

Great Job. You just gave your insurance company a reason not to pay.

It has... Common sense has as well. Half the time these dummies have left a hand gun in their console or glove box. Free cars and guns are the reason these people are driving around casing the area. Frick anybody who does this kinda shite. It puts others in danger as well.

Come on, fess up, your wallet was in the console wasn't it? Admit it and the weight will be lifted.

Coworker husband had his truck stolen at night after leaving his keys in one of the compartments.

Insurance still paid.

Your truck wasn’t stolen. It was commandeered.

There are no regulations what so ever on buying a tow truck.
Even better you can convert most heavy duty trucks into hidden tow trucks. I know of three of these in the ninth ward.

Then if you look in their back yards they have high end engines, rears, trannys and rims.
Just sad.

I was fricking surprised. One of the deputies was at another cops house talking to them and saw the car pass and said hang on, I think thats a stolen car. Sure enough it was mine. I dont have much faith in police but I can honestly say that cop deserves a fricking raise.

That's sad that they go into Lakeview to do that. Uptown and Mid city folks are used to the bs.

The video shows them pull off at 10:16. I called the cops and reported it stolen at 10:22. On star is tracking it now so hopefully we can catch these frickers.
