You think an 18 year old today could achieve the same? A cop salary supporting a stay at home wife and kids?

If u wanna go be a policeman in a democrat city, you can make 150k easily and sometime get to lay down with a troll mayor…..

LINK

Women from 18-64 changed their vote a net 3 from Dem to Rep between 20 and 24
Men 18-64 was and net 15 change from Dem to Republican

65+ was 0 change

So tell me who wanted more of the same?
Boomer women actually were a net 4 from Rep to Dem in 24 compared to 20

And the bulk of your generation is on the same path. No money in the bank, renting instead of owning. Car payments larger than a mortgage if they had one…..and majority uneducated seeking dishwashing jobs. But, you must have latest gadgets while complaining about having no money. But using credit cards as wealth to buy stupid toys.

Uhhh... it's much higher than 2%. Welfare programs (including all means-tested aid) make up roughly 7% of the federal budget, while housing assistance programs like Section 8 account for about 1%. So that's closer to 8% actually.

You were saying something about math proficiency?

8% or 2% is still way less than 40%

How do you not see that SS and Medicare are a drain on society?

Would you vote for a candidate that said Ill cut SS and Medicare but I'll also cut section 8 and Snap?

I thought this discussion was about generations? Why we bringing genders into this?

I fail to see where I said that. But people that has paid the tax for SS and Medicare can't be the only ones getting screwed. The people that contribute nothing gets it first.

I absolutely would as a matter of fact. As long as my contributions are also cut so I can invest them.

Yeah, I don’t see much if any difference between generations in terms of not saving and investing, but buying all of the latest gadgets, 100K trucks and SUVs.

Each generation has a hand in its own future and should accept responsibility for that.

I hope I have enough when I go to help my great grandchildren. But if not, I’m resting easy by the fact I invested in my children and grandchildren.

Are boomer women still not boomers?

The facts are that every generation except boomers were tired of Dem polices and went more red in 2024 except the generations of 65+

All those stupid no kings rallies and anti - ice rallies - mostly boomer white people

The older generations should sacrifice for their children.

A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.

Though to be fair, Millennials are hardly known for their work ethic.

Lazy, insolent, entitled, and insufferable when it comes to retarded social issues, sure, but honesty, integrity and work ethic not so much.

If it is there then of course I want it to invest in my grandchildren genius. Wouldn’t you? But, they could do away with it tomorrow and it wouldn’t affect me financially so let’s do it!

How old are you and what planning have you done for retirement? Do you pay into Social Security? Will you take your distribution when you retire or are you just going to donate it back to the government to use as it pleases? These are questions you should have an answer for if you’re 25 or older.

And then we Gen Xers can claim the largest victim status because more has been paid in by us. And there wouldn't be enough time to get the gains from investment as the others.

Actually the welfare and section 8 folks wouldn't be screwed. Their freebie train would be cut off. They don't pay in to that.

But pass an elimination of that and I'm all in. Since my plan is currently running for little or no benefits anyway. Any SS would just be bonus cash.

Ironically, as you can read in previous posts, this is exactly what I did.

No one under boomers expects to ever receive it.

I haven’t even thought about it or factored it into any plans at all.

It is merely a theft I see monthly.

Heck yes! Sign me up! Get rid of SS, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare benefits in all forms including Snap and Wic.

The trailer trash Sand Mountain meth-heads and ghetto hood rats need to contribute as well.

When only about half of the population pay income taxes then you know we have a laziness problem more than anything.

That is exactly the way I thought of it. But now that I can receive it and I use it to invest in my grandchildren; you are of the opinion that I should give it back to the same institution that has been wasting it for many decades?

How old are you? Let’s compare lives and careers paths through your current age. I bet that we will be close to the same decision making at that age. Do you have children? That is very important in these types of discussions.
