My son “released” a song from the basement-looking for feedback

I tried the Music Board but it just doesn’t get traffic like the OT. He just turned 17, so he’s not a basement mooch. He composed, played an old keyboard, and did the vocals. He also used garage band software, I think.

I listened to about 30 seconds. Total flat line. Same monotone beat, keyboard, and “symbols”. Voice range doesn’t change at all. I’d tell him not to ditch college. He’s going to need it.

When layering vocals, he needs to change the pitch of one part. Sing one part higher than the other.

I hope he can take criticism.. Kids today are all about likes on FB and don't know how to take it when not in their favor...
But he has potential just sitting down and doing that... Being only 17, kudos to him, he has time to learn...

Great song after I turned on my Dolby noise reduction feature.
