During some downtime at work I found all the ATC audio tapes of random shite. One of my favorites was a FedEx or UPS pilot that put down a 777 or something else massive at a regional airport. VERY regional. then realized it was closed. At some point while they are trying to find out where they landed the pilot chimes in "A guy is walking up to us now."
Probably some poor security guard who I'm sure thought "Mother of GOD" when that big bastard came into Podunk Regional airport.

My grandpa had a half stake in a Cessna in the early 90s. Similar situation, the guy that had the other half took his wife and two kids to Charleston for the weekend and crashed somewhere off Hilton Head. They never found the plane.

My dad was an aircraft mechanic for 40 years. He called small planes Doctor killers, because most of the crashes were caused by inexperienced pilots often Doctors.

Yes there is. Unpredictable mother nature. Wind, Rain, Thunderstorms, etc make small planes dangerous.

I don't fly in bad weather and have weather radar in my plane. Honestly it's gotten so much safer than when I first started flying

Pops 19 flew for the army in WWII and taught basic flight out of Luke in AZ.

You listed weather. The weather has nothing to do with small planes being dangerous. Flying planes in bad weather may not be advisable, but that is not the plane's fault. It's the pilot's go/no go decision. Anything else?
