I shut the main off and opened all the faucets. I have PEX pipes. When they thaw tomorrow should I be ok? Or is there any area of concern? Something I should do tonight?

The question is can you do anything more to help.

Sadly, probably not.

Friday it might get better.

Do you have a ice maker outside of your Frig? If so, you might want to turn that off.

I tried heating pads, hair dryer and space heater. It's just frozen and probably in a long run

My pressure has been low all day but I have water flow. I’m assuming my pipes didn’t freeze? I’m very worried about tonight though, since it never really warmed up today. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow.

frick this shite. My electric bill is going to give me a heart attack this month.

I'd you'll be out of the house tomorrow, it wouldn't hurt to shut the main water off when you leave. If there is anything that's busted, you don't want to end up like Lugnut.

ETA - I'd open the main line during the night and close it when you leave tomorrow. You don't want any completely closed ends if you can avoid it. If the pipes are frozen, they'll continue to freeze back into the main line to the street. That's fine. You don't want it to freeze up to a closed valve and have pressure build.

Probably because everyone else is running water too.

Like in the summer when everyone is watering their grass in the afternoon.

Get a pack of hand warmers and tape them to the exposed section of pipe you are trying to thaw.

Are an absolute bitch to unthaw.

We were under houses today hitting them with heat and bending them and all kinds of shite and they wouldn't thaw

Open the main since we'll see freezing temps again tonight.

Surprisingly, ice forming in a pipe does not typically cause a break where the ice blockage occurs. It's not the radial expansion of ice against the wall of the pipe that causes the break. Rather, following a complete ice blockage in a pipe, continued freezing and expansion inside the pipe causes water pressure to increase downstream -- between the ice blockage and a closed faucet at the end. It's this increase in water pressure that leads to pipe failure.

I’ve got PEX in my house and maybe you can answer a question. I have every single water source on a manifold except one spigot directly over where my water comes into the house. Is this normal? Is there a reason?

I want to be able to kill water to my external spigots during the winter but this one is off the manifold.

I was under my house for two hours with a heat gun. I thawed the shortest run to the feeder inch by inch and never could unthaw it. I'm pretty sure it was freezing back up as I went.

Is your PEX in the attic? If so, did you shut off your main and open your faucets before the pipes froze? If you did that the blockage should be in the run of pipe between the ground and the main valve. Put a heat lamp or a hair dryer on that section and it should clear. If your pipe is under the house and you left water in it then you will just have to wait for the thaw.
