We just had a tornado (small) and straightline winds come through my neck of the woods. Trampolines everywhere. Would not buy.

What ever you do, do not put the posts and nets up around it. It’s a strangulation hazard and your kid will
Impale herself on the metal posts.

You should also place it next to a pool so if your kid falls off they will land in water not on the ground.

American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery Trampoline Recommendations

Some good basic info here. Six years old is a bit young, so I wouldn't leave her unsupervised.

Well, unless you put a moat around it they'd have to fall off of it in the exact direction of the pool to be safe.

My kids had been asking for one for like a year and a half, and I was a hard no, mainly because I didn't want to constantly have to move it around for mowing and keeping the grass alive.

I also knew that with most of them, you end up having to replace the net, or springs fairly regularly, and I knew I wouldn't want to waste the money to fix something I never wanted in the first place.

wife was pushing just as hard as the kids to just get one..

I eventually caved, but went all in, and bought the biggest SpringFree model with interactive sensors, bluetooth tablet/game interface, with a 10 year warranty on the whole thing just so I wouldn't have to think about it.

So I went from being totally against having one, to buying the most expensive trampoline known to man.

The kids do love it though.

My mother took gymnastics in college and would never let us have one because she'd seen too many injuries from them. Dad didn't care, but she put her foot down and said no. Luckily, there were some other kids in the neighborhood who had them, so we still got to jump.

We just changed our homeowner insurance and one of the questions they asked was if have a trampoline. Never run into that before, but may be something you should check on before getting one to see what it might do to your rates.

If it’s not too cold outside, my 3 boys are on our trampoline or playing some backyard sport.

There’s a noticeable difference in their attitudes when they’ve been out playing and when they’ve been playing Nintendo Switch or something involving screens.

Definitely talk to your insurance. Do you have a trampoline was one of the questions we were asked.

And no nets. Nets are for sissies. Nets don't build character.

We had a trampoline growing up and loved it. No broken bones but plenty of bruises.

Trampoline accident is the only time I’ve ever had to have stitches haha.

They are fun, but fed have some cons. Cons don’t outweigh the pros in my learned opinion.

Pros:
Exercise and fun

Cons:
Injuries
Eye sore
Lawn obstacle
Wind sail
Insurance impact

No trampoline at our house in a neighborhood. Plenty of outside time on family land with 4 wheelers, the creek, horses, AND an umbrella policy!!!

No one in Metairie during the 80s had a trampoline. Everyone just went to that place on Bonnabel and Vets. Rusty trampolines and sprinklers, I don’t know why that place had to close down.

You can have mine for free. My kids begged for their trampoline last year and after 6 months they don’t use the damn thing

My kids had one and used it quite a bit, into their teenage years.

The split seems to be 50/50.
