Congratulations John and Jane

That's not a best friend, much less a friend. Trashy move. It could've waited an extra day.

If you built a life together, including kids, without getting married, then marriage is not very important to you.
So I see no problem here.

All of that shite in the begining (dating, pregnant, child, moved in together, house, dog) was completely irrelevant to the main point of the story.
Points to needless exaggeration, which points to forgery.
Lame.

Nope. Never speaking to either one of them again. Ever

If you spend $80k on one day of your life, you're either really rich or really stupid

Similar thing in concept (not on the same scale but still) happened with us. My brother and his family came in for the dedication of our firstborn. After church my wife's and my family, plus my brother and his, and so e close friends went out to eat. After everyone is seated and we are taking turns holding my son, his wife out of nowhere blurts out that she's pregnant (with their 4th kid). I was shocked and everyone else was kind of like what just happened.
At least wait until after the celebration for this kind of thing.

All that to tell us you paid 80 thousand for a wedding?

That's what you get for not making your Dad the best man. This John guy, he didn't become a dick overnight.

At the reception would have been fine. Maybe even set the bouqet and garter toss to set it up. But to do it during the ceremony is a dick move.

No. No it wouldn't have been fine at the reception

It would have been fine the day after the reception. Or in the car on the way home. One of the first rules of attending a wedding is that you don't do/say anything to steal the happy couple's thunder.
It is their day and you are there as an observer or member of the party. It was a total douche move, brought from the bowels of Kadouchestan.

If any of mine marries the poors they better do it at the Elvis Chapel in Vegas because I ain't paying for that shite.
