This is where all the “dad bod” shite comes from. Women are lazy and don’t want to get fit, so they claim they find “dad bod” sexy so their husbands don’t bother getting fit.
There’s a reason a generation of women were rubbing their cl*t with an image of the Magic Mike characters. Sorry guys, women don’t find fat dudes attractive. It’s a ploy.

Frankly, at mid-life or beyond, probably a better way to go - semi-permanent to permanent changes that take the weight off slowly are far, far more likely to be long-term gains than a, "Okay, I'll train for a 5k, knock off the bad stuff for 10 or 12 weeks and be fat again by New Year's" type schedules a lot of baws follow.
Just sayin'...

People are insecure.
At least the author has the self awareness to recognize her insecurity.
That is better than the vast majority of people.

How many times have we heard women bitch about their husbands being fat? I've heard some brag about cutting them off until they lost weight even.

Maybe the dude lost a shite ton of fat and then started lifting hard and replaced that fat with muscle. There was a guy that started lifting with us about 5 years ago. He was overweight but not a fat arse by any stretch and was pretty strong. He would do some obscene cardio after he lifted with us. After about 6 months he had pretty well dropped most of the weight he wanted and then really amped up his lifting and he got pretty big, like huge. I bet his net weight loss was about 20 pounds as well but looked 100% different from when he started.
Just spit balling with this.
