There are several people on YouTube (including a guy in Denham Springs) that flip for a living. Seems like they all buy the same stuff, anything new in package, video games & systems, make up & perfumes, and ANY electronics (VCRs, cordless phones, etc).
You can look on their eBay pages, the nickel and dime it, buying in bulk. Most of their stuff sells for $30 or less. They do get $100-$200 hits.
That’s way too much work. They have sheds and storage units just for listing, boxing, and shipping.

Ive always thought that American Pickers was a dumb show because the math just doesn't work out. In order to do what they do you would need to show up with a SEMI and offer them a super low price to cover everything remotely valuable.
The notion that they drive around buying 5 things here and there is just dumb. Sure its interesting, but there ain't no way you could do that and be profitable.

We went to that alien place in Abita Springs one time. American Pickers had gone there once. The items they bought and showed them putting in the van, were still there.

From what I have been told, real "Junkers" will pull up and offer like $2 grand for a house full of stuff in order to be able to make a profit. Buying a few things like American Pickers claims would never work.

I watched some YouTube guy last night. During this summer when everyone had nothing to do but clean out their house, and Goodwill didn’t have the people to sort the ton of donations, Goodwill was selling 4x4x4 pallets of unsorted donations. He bought 30 of them. Threw away 75% of it, had a garage sale for about 20% of it, and put 5% on eBay.

The amount of work those guys put in for boom or bust profits is quite remarkable. They sell of anything and everything no matter the worth.
As someone who deal pretty extensively with trading cards, I pretty much quite selling cards under $25 since it's just not worth my time to deal with the shipping and processing, customer bullshite, and all the jazz

I see a lot fewer albums these days. Either the kids are keeping their parents albums or they are selling them before the house opens. I bought thousands of LP’s at garage and estate sales back in the 80’s and 90’s when people starting changing over to CD’s. People were essentially giving them away by the boxful. I’m not a reseller either. I buy for my own collection and listening.

Used albums don’t sell for shite and it’s even worse now with new pressings coming out.

If that Nat King Cole album had For Sentimental Reasons on it, I’d buy it from you. I have wanted that to be my wedding song for years and would totally frame the album it’s from.
