So you paid retail and they would still make a great gift for a child. I don't consider that a miss. Toys can be gifted (toys for tots?). A miss to me would be something I could do nothing with.

You EBay things as you go through the garage and estate sales don’t you? Only way you’d look twice at eye cream

No, that takes the fun out of it.
I will look up something if it’s a huge lot.

I bet this set will he sought after.

Come to find out, this is the least desirable color. I’ll make $50 off the entire lot.

I bought one like this on Ebay before. It was butterfly opening and had a dial that you could adjust the closeness. So, it had a few more features than these, but I think I paid $35 for it. I ended up dropping it in the shower and now it's bent and doesn't cut evenly

I have never done the storage unit stuff. It does not interest me. There’s no hunt. it’s gambling. Plus I’ve heard that the owners of the storage units will go through it and tell their friends whether to come bid on it or not

serious question... How is it that you can come here and peddle your old crap but if I wanted a cooler without colors someone gets banned?

I bought one about 4 years ago. I go through an auction site and look at the preview pictures of local storage unit auctions. I saw a unit that had some visible Star Wars toys, some of them appeared to be in box or at least have the box.

I went to the auction. Most of the other bidders looked homeless, and in the thirty minutes I was there, the other 5 or 6 guys there consumed roughly 8 packs of cigarettes between themselves.

The unit I was interested in was the third of 9 being auctioned. I got it for the opening bid of 60 bucks.

I immediately went to the Star Wars stuff. There were 2 mint on card figures, that doubled my money. There were 4 vehicles that had been opened, but had the boxes, and there were 6 cases which each had between 25 and 40 figures. The figures were all in near mint condition, and some a a little better. About half were complete with weapons. There were also 11 of the last 17 vintage figures, which all carry a hefty value. There were some other 80s toys in the unit.

I loaded all the stuff I wanted to sell into the cab of my truck. I sorted the rest of the contents into donate, keep, sell, throw away piles.

I kept nothing for myself. The sell pile ended up with some sporting goods, a few signed baseballs, some jerseys, and a few old t shirts. I donated some flatware, an old TV that worked, and some dishes.

The throw away pile was the biggest. Non working TVs, clothes full of rat shite, old bank statements, and other trash, cardboard boxes which mostly contained other boxes, stacks of old newspapers, a kitty condo, and some stained nasty furniture. This was approximately 80% of the unit. I had to make two trips to the dump to get rid of everything, and I still filled my can at home.

I did really well on the financial end. Within a a month I had sold all the toys, and took in close to 4 grand.

If I saw somethign similar to what I bought I would do it again, but dealing with all the trash was a big pain.

I bought the amber drop below when I worked in Russia. It came from the Russian Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad which used to be Königsberg, a part of Germany which Russia annexed after WWII.

There are three insects trapped in the amber: a tick (or spider, not sure which) in the lower right-hand side, a small mosquito just above the tick and a larger mosquito (partially obscured by a black blob and a crack in the amber) in about the middle of the stone.

I do not sell my stuff here. In all my garage threads, I have actually sold only three things to members here because they contacted me several times.

I assume that the owners of the storage buildings take the nice storage ones and sell the ones full of trash.

Alternate focus: WHY do people pay to store trash? This is a big pet peeve of mine.

yet in this thread you posted your email when someone expressed interest in an item. might it be you have only sold 3 items here be due to the fact you turned down their offers or vice versa. btw I enjoy these threads but I also enjoy honesty so lets just try and stick with it ok.

by law they are not allowed to go into them until the auction UNLESS they forgive the debt or pay the tab themselves. they don't have keys to the locks, thus the cutting of said lock.

You date them by the tick marks on the bottom. Very easy to date
