Follow ups on some of the items I found last week

Mac Power Books, paid $20

Coleman Stove, paid $3

Hawthorne lantern, paid $2

Mac speakers, paid $10

Cutco knives, paid $25

These last two auctions are still active

Nike irons, (Paid $50 for irons & woods)
(The woods haven’t got a bid yet, but I believe they will sell because of number of watchers and a couple offers)

Nikon camera, paid $20

Plus a few other things that sold
Remington knife, paid $8, sold $20
BRHS yearbooks, paid $20, sold $40
Jewelry music box, paid $1, sold $15

Still haven’t decided whether or not to sell the PK grill yet. I paid $20, should get $150-$200

Love that you gave us the updates
That would be a nice add-on to your post. Amazes me what people will pay for nostalgia type stuff.

That’s cool man, you still married? I don’t know any decent woman who would put up with this dirty garbage constantly circulating throughout their house. And that’s on top of “no honey I can’t do breakfast with the family, you know I have to be out of the house at 6 to pick out some more trash to bring home for you.”

Show me from the post above, what is “dirty garbage”. That “dirty garbage” made me $800, for about 3 or 4 hours of having fun. That’s right, on top of making great money, guess what, it’s fun. It’s a treasure hunt.

I don’t do this for a living. I got a great job that pays six figures. I do it for the fun. Some guys chase a little white ball around for three hours, and pay good money to do it. To each their own.

And actually, you’d be surprised how many baws from the OT I run into at garage sales. I don’t know if I inspired them, or they’ve always done it.

Here’s my estimated guess
Cutco -$125
Lantern - $75
Stove - $75
Clubs - $150 (not sure about this one)
Nikon - $75
Grill - $125 (if I sell it)
MacBooks - $100 for both

Man, I was way off on the Nikon and stove. Nailed the Cutco set, lantern, and a little under estimate on the Macbooks.
Im probably with in $20 guess on the clubs, even though a few people said I wouldn’t be able to give them away.

Agree, those clubs are garbage. Cut them down and give them to a child as beginner set.

There’s a lot more women at garage sales than men, probably 2:1, and estate sales, it’s 5:1.

As long as mamma is getting some benefits of this extra cash she will have no problem with his hobby

Exactly. MrsAntiqueTiger hates garage sales, has never gone with me. She has gone to a handful of estate sales.
My oldest daughter, who has been going with me since she was 5, is addicted. Since she got her license and car, she’s gone by herself. Her very first solo trip, she made about $200.

Someone mentioned not having breakfast with the family because I’m hitting the curbs. It’s the complete opposite. It’s now a tradition, me and my daughter hit Chic-Fa-La while we are out, and bring it home. We are home by 9am.

@Antique- by any chance have you come across a vintage 80s plush Mistletoad? It is a plus toad that represents mistletoe. My parents lost theirs in the 2016 flood and it hit me during this post that I need to find them a replacement.

This?

There’s none for sale on eBay, but a few that sold. Just set an alert to let you know when one is listed

I have no idea how my phone came up with that. I guess my fat fingers hit something. I did edit before you posted

Not surprised about the 500A stove. In the past year it seems anything that’s vintage Coleman has gone crazy price-wise.

People are selling (and getting) $50-$60 for common lanterns like 220-F’s from the ‘70’s, of which literally millions were made.

I only got into collecting Coleman stuff about 7 years ago, and you almost couldn’t give those away. I have several that I paid $5 for.

My guess is the one that says “Property of the State of California” doesn’t work. Typical.
