[quote]I guess it is a culture shock to my new wife right now[quote]

Did the old wife enjoy football or is this your first and therefore "new" bride?

Your wife will either come around to football or the two of you will figure out that watching football is an experience in which you do not share.

That's grounds for dismissal son.

I knew mine was a keeper when right after we started dating, I texted her on a Thursday night asking her what she was up to and she replied, "watching the Thu nite game on ESPN."

You made a very serious mistake marrying a woman who doesnt like football. You fricked up son. Divorce this bitch now and go find a good southern woman.

No lie. You should do this.

My wife loves football, at least UK football, and she will casually watch other SEC games. Nothing else though, a waste of her time she says.

What the hell is wrong with that? Better than the nagging and questions, " Why does the man with the ball always run at the players on the other team? Why not run around them?"

"Who is LSU playing?"

"Florida."

"Are they good?"

Well, it's starting to make sense on why you are the most miserable, bitter poster on this site.

No, that comes from the fundamentalist Christian dogma that was beaten into him since birth.

My wife doesn't like football, but there is never a question of if the TV will be on football on Saturdays during the fall. We have other TVs if anyone wants to watch something else.

Really not a big deal.

Sorry. You don't ask...you tell. And then sit her down and teach her the rules. Then you take her to a huge SEC matchup on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. Get to the campus early and eat and drink at ur tailgating all day...then sit her arse down next to you in some great seats.

Problem solved.

That's how I did it. She's a diehard tiger fan now and was born and raised in arky. LOVES LSU!

Even took her to a couple of away games in arky. Thought that we wouldn't get out of there alive both times. Sat in arky sections and she stood up all of both games wearing LSU colors and cheering her team on....pissed everyone off around us and I told her that...her answer was we bought these seats and I'll root for my Tigahs! They can kiss my arse ( loudly).

We won both games but the walk back to the truck was interesting a few times.

What the frick, OP.

Your wife doesn't need to like to watch football and it certainly shouldn't occupy whole days of your life.

My wife doesn't like football, and I love it that way. I get my own time to enjoy it how I want, instead of some woman with marginal interest thinking it is a social event.
