Pretty much this. I also don't make my happiness and mental well-being subject to what a bunch of teenagers do on Saturday. Teenagers these days are just too leaky a vessel to put much hope in. Just like Jake Spoon.

It's been my experience that very few women like football. What I mean by that is that they'll watch it independently. I've never met one that will watch it whether or not a guy is watching it with them.
Most tolerate it or pretend they like it if they like you.

Can't relate.
My wife is not big into sports but she enjoys going to live games.
When I am watching sports at homes she usually doesn't mess with me and does her own thing like read or watch tv in the back. Sometimes she will come in the living room and lay on the couch and read or watch netflix on her ipad.

I posted in the OP. I have scaled back.
Example this past weekend: I watched Bama vs A&M and the LSU game Saturday. Sunday I watched Colts vs New England game. I watched Saints on Thursday. That was it. This is a normal weekend now.
We went camping in Colorado 3 weeks ago. Did not have a cell phone signal all day Sat and Sunday. So I watched zero games that weekend. So, I do other stuff on weekends besides football every weekend.
I guess a better question is how do I get her to like football more. Maybe I'll bring her to a Saints game. That was the best suggestion I have heard on here so far.

Or they just like the social aspect of it. In New Orleans the number of women (and people in general) who like the Saints exploded during the 2009 season because it became much more of a thing to get together and have fun for the game rather than sulking and getting a depressed drunk on.

I have season tickets and only have to take her to one game a year. The other games I take family and friends who LOVE football. It's a win win for me.

I'm thankful my so is a diehard LSU fan, but she couldn't give 2 shits about the NFL or any non-SEC game on tv. She is understanding and only occasionally tries to get me to do other things during Saints games (though never during playoffs or really key games).
Since i'm not in love with the NFL, it usually means i get to watch 1 or 2 full nfl games per week (generally Saints).
For college, i get all LSU games (in stadium for all home games) plus any day games. Occasionally, we may watch a big SEC primetime game that's not LSU.

My gf doesn't like football. She doesn't lift a finger to make food either. Ever. But she won't be getting a ring from me.
Marriage without kids is silly. You done messed up. You'll just have to put up with the silent attitude, but if she says something, you gotta really stand up for yourself. Be mad about it. Women don't like when their man loves something else that steals attention away, and that's entirely fricked up in my opinion. Don't let her kill your soul.

I wouldn't try to force it
but taking her to games or having people over for games would definitely make it more fun

She will come tailgate, and I'll go to the game with friends or family. I rarely watch much outside of LSU and the occasional Saints game.
Generally she respects my desire to watch the Tigers, but I've had to watch a lot of games on DVR over the years.
