If they aren't asking for money, then you don't need to give money.

But, I'd show up with some food and alcohol to contribute. I hate showing up anywhere empty handed.

Pay for the beer, food should be taken care of by the host. FWIW, when you turn 30 and you host a get together you should not ask for anyone attending to pay up.

You’re an adult now.

Bring a handle of Makers Mark as an offering. Leave the handle upon departure and thank them for their hospitality. You will be invited back!

And leave both for the host. One cool thing about hosting a party is we usually have random booze for weeks.

If your friends are adults they shouldn’t expect a dime from anyone. I would bring something unique for the tailgate or a host gift, like an nice bottle of booze.

They are buying all of the beer and food and providing the music and whatnot and not asking for any money.

You ask if there is anything they would like you to bring. If they say no, tell them thank you for the invitation and if they do think of something they forget not to hesitate to send the request your way. Of they dont, go and have a good time.

Next time you host a tailgate/party, invite them and reciprocate their generosity.

I'm not sure why there seems to be so little knowledge of social etiquette from so many posters here. This isn't that hard.

If its gonna bother you so much, bring a bottle of bourbon for the liquor set up. Can never have too much booze.

I have never, ever, irregardless of my financial state, hosted a party as an individual and asked for people to kick in, that's just me though

Bring a cooler full of ice and fill your cooler up with as much beer it will hold.

Then make 3 to go plates full of food and then leave.

Tell them thank you.
