My friends are hosting a tailgate this weekend - how much should I pay them?

A couple of my buddies are hosting a baseball tailgate this weekend. They are buying all of the beer and food and providing the music and whatnot and not asking for any money.
What’s an appropriate amount to Venmo? Should I do it based on how much beer I drink or just a set amount? It’d be shitty not to give anything obviously but I don’t want to give too much.

this is how this shite works junior, they have invited you to their tailgate as a guest, you're not required to offer anything, but baw etiquette mandates that you make the offer to kick in and the proper etiquette response is that your host thank you and politely decline your offer, then you will be invited to the next one

Pay for the beer, food should be taken care of by the host. FWIW, when you turn 30 and you host a get together you should not ask for anyone attending to pay up.

Offer something or to help set it up. If they decline thank them and make sure you put on some event in the future and invite them.

I would give either $40 or a decent bottle of whiskey. Really depends on the scale of what your friend it setting up, though.
