Your friend sounds fricking stupid.

He should have focused on IS over IT.

That's what's so shocking to me, he's actually very intelligent in most cases.

I say millenial because he makes comments about how he doesn't think he's cut out to work and he just want's to be happy. He honestly thinks work should be a happy place 100% of the time and it should never feel like work.
Come on, Kurt Cobain blew his fricking brains out because being a rock star was too much work. It was his dream and passion to make music and he couldn't handle it.
He doesn't want to deal with the politics of the work place, but who does.

He also thought he was going to make $80k+ his first year out of college. A&M actually had his class believing that.

Every college now. Colleges love to lie to you about all of their programs and sadly a lot of people believe it.

I think most colleges will show statistics to students like average salary for X position, then stupid students think that will be their starting salary.

There are very few jobs that you can land straight out of undergrad making 80k+ salary.

I understand what you're saying. I work 2 jobs to support my family.

It's not fun, but it will pay off for me in the future.

I hate when I hear people complain about there jobs and working too much.

55 hours/week really isn't that bad, especially if you're just starting out.

Your friend should become a forest firefighter/photographer

He's also a photographer, and manages the presence of mind to shoot and Instagram images of the fires he battles—13 blazes this summer. His photos garner thousands of likes and bids to "stay safe" from all over the world.
